91: The morning after

Aurora’s POV

The water cascaded over my skin, washing away the remnants of the night, the steam swirling around me like a comforting veil. I made no mention of our encounter as I turned off the shower, the silence between us heavy with unspoken words.

Wrapping a towel around me, I stepped out of the shower, the cool air of the bathroom a stark contrast to the warmth of the water. I could feel his eyes on me, his gaze burning into my skin, but I refused to meet it, instead focusing on drying myself off quickly.

Once I was dry, I didn't linger. I didn't say a word as I wrapped the towel tightly around my body and tiptoed past him, my heart pounding in my chest. I prayed that the maids hadn't seen me, that I could make it back to my room without anyone knowing what had transpired between us.

Well this is going to be interesting, oh to be a fly on the wall! ... I hope Caden finds out & feels awful for forcing her to work the wedding & realises his new daughter-in-law isn’t so sweet & innocent & his son is a douche!
