I paced about the hallway, awaiting Zack's return. It had been hours since I ordered him to go to the mall, and still, there was no sign of him or any phone call with news.

I couldn't help but wonder if something bad had happened to J and Anna before I could get to them, or if he had actually been able to locate them.

What was I thinking, pinning those pictures in my study room, knowing she frequents the area like water? But it wasn't my fault; if I had known in time, I would have removed it and hidden it far from her reach.

And besides, why would she think I would hurt her for her parents' deeds? That little brain of hers didn't tell her she's untouchable, even if I'm concerned?
