Lance's POV

When the news reached me that Daphne had refused to eat for hours since Maria, J, and Anna's disappearance, my world came crashing down.

I ordered the maids to coerce her into eating, but she refused, making signs that if Anna didn't come back to her, she would never eat again.

Besides Daphne's weak threats, I miss J terribly and long to be in her arms, cuddling and comforting each other. But I'm powerless since I can't scent her.

My mind whirled with different thoughts: What if she's not in Pennsylvania? What if I get there and can't find her? What if she refuses to follow me back because she feels I would punish her for her parents' deeds? What if...

"What if she's in trouble?" Justin chimed in quietly. His face was calm, and his voice was in contrast to my turmoil.

I frowned deeply, my forehead lines visible. "Were you intruding on my privacy?" I growled at him.

A smile curved out on his lips, and he mechanically raised his hands in defeat. "I wasn't intruding..." He
