Chapter Forty Seven

The following morning....

I wasn't able to see mum through out yesterday and I still wonder the kind of room Jake gave her since he gave me such ugly and unpleasant room to stay

I woke up early, I couldn't sleep last night.... I'm still scared of what my life will turn into by living under Jake's roof and his mother is somehow acting strange.

I walked downstairs, it looks like Jake didn't come home last night, but still I have to prepare breakfast. I saw mum in the kitchen, she was awake already. I really pity my poor mum, she is not physically fit, but Jake had turned her into his maid all for a reason I can't comprehend. What if her health condition becomes worse since the doctor has instructed her not to do hard work and take her rest.

"Mum," I muttered, standing on the kitchen doorway, she turned to face me.

"Leah," she in turn mumbled, her eyes wearing a teary look. How much she is in pain, I mean my mum doesn't deserve this at all.
