The curse of a blindfold

I can’t wait to see Maddie’s face when she sees what I have up my sleeve today. I know she is sad her brother had to leave for his pack, so I planned a little something for her. Not without help from my mother, I might add. Otherwise this would have not happened. I smile to myself. So much has changed already. People are accepting of Maddie and her gifts, and they are getting more used to animals running in and out of the pack grounds. We have not had any big wounded visitors since the day Piper brought her friend back, but he has been back multiple times on his own. Maddie says it’s to say thank you, and I have to take her word for it.

“Where are we going?” Maddie asks with a small laugh, and I remember I actually brought a blindfold for her.

“Hey! I just remembered this!” I say, picking it out from my pocket. The laughter rises, from a small chuckle to a full belly laugh.

“I’m not putting that on.” She says, and I give her a cheeky look.

“Oh no?”

“Nuh uh.” She cros
