CHAPTER 7: Unknown Thoughts

Alphas POV

Morning came. Everything seemed normal like nothing has happened. I mean nothing happened, ofcourse but the thought of what we slightly did is bothering me in this early morning.

I slightly turned my sight towards Kai.

We'll it was never a surprise to see him surrounded with girls so early in the morning. He did well in our first two classes, getting recognized for his intelligence.

As usual. He is always on the center spot even if he did nothing. People are attracted with his personality.

Just like when we were still in elementary.

He never changed.

Later on, Rhean joined the on going commotion. She is one of our pretty classmates. Rhean seemed to be enjoying Kai's company.

Then for a moment, Kai looked at me. He then planted his evil smirk and evil stares.

Those eyes! Those eyes and stares are what makes me feel so darn defeated.

"Let's grab lunch later okay?" Trix blurted out of nowhere. This girl should learn how to behave well.

"Yeah but I have something else to do." I answered back as I stood up from my seat and grab my bag.

"Hey, where are you going?" Trixie asked.

"Church. I need to exorcise some evil entities around me"

"Seriously? Are they dangerous? Should I help? I know someone who knows how to repel evil spirits!"

Okay.

I didn't know that she took it seriously.

I only sighed. How can she be so dense? Now I'm wondering why did I even stick with her if she thinks way too literal.

"No need Trix, you need to study more especially on the topic, sarcasm." I spoke and left her wondering what I meant.

Trix is really pretty but very stupid as well. But despite being, ironically, 'special', she had been my friend.

No one has ever stayed with me for a long time. Maybe because of my own attitude. And she's the only one who understands that.  That's why she's 'special'.

The hallways are a bit crowded since it's almost lunch time. As usual it was noisy. Somehow the place is filled with unfamiliar faces.

Probably they are from other classes. Not that I actually care. As long as I have my lonely place to stay, it's fine.

I pushed my way into the crowd of people and finally, I slipped behind the tall buildings and into the vast greenery of the school. It was filled with green, subtle grass and shady trees enough for the suns rays to peek in between it's luscious leaves.

Under the trees right behind the school is my favorite spot. It's silent, no bystanders. Just me and the nature.

I scanned for my book and started looking for the page.

Mr. Harold was absent and we had to study for our upcoming exams. Now that Kai is here, I need to stay at my pace. Had to be on my best game at all times.

"Hey!" a voice echoed. I turned and saw a very familiar person.

Right.

"Rio." I mumbled.

Rio was the captain of the volleyball club.

"Do you need anything?" I asked trying to cut the chase.

"It's nothing actually. It's been so long since I saw you in the School Government Office." he spoke as he sat down right beside me.

"I got busy with studies." I answered back and looked down to my book.

"You need to relax sometimes you know." he muttered.

"Whatever." I spoke back. "I'm always relax."

There was silence between us as I was looking at my book and him looking on the far side of the school where students are walking from different directions.

Then he spoke.

"The teacher and the coach asked me to look for a student representative to assist with us in the coming games." he muttered.

I sighed. I know where this is going.

"You know I am not good in sports Rio. Look for someone else."

"You know I don't have someone close in the office. We have been classmates since 6th grade. Can't you spare me a day or two?"

"Even if it's just an hour I still won't accept it." I answered back.

"Come on Alpha. We won't be in the games if a representative is not with us. Please." Rio mumbled.

"I said no."

"Come on." he still muttered, rubbing his head to my shoulders.

"You better stop that or I will punch you. "I groaned.

"I won't, not until you will say yes." he spoke back now rubbing his head even more.

I tried shoving him off but he still manages to reach me with his head. I almost slap him in the face but instead he just pulled me and rub me more.

"Fine! Just stop." I groaned. "AS if I had a choice. The committee actually asked me to assist the volleyball club."

"Really? Yay! You're the best. I know I can count on you." he giggly muttered.

"Whatever." I shrugged.

"But hey Alpha, can I ask you something?" he asked.

"What?"

"Was it true? That, Kai is actually your classmate now? Isn't he the kid back in grade 2 who you..."

He stopped. Ofcourse.

If he continued with his words he knows what will happen next.

"Yes. That was him." I answered back.

Keeping it secret wont change anything so telling the truth might be the best answer.

"He has changed so much since the last time I saw him. But ofcourse he is well aware of my presence. At the same time he is also my rival and I can't let my past affect me or my decisions in the future."

The once noisy Rio is now silent. I didnt bother looking at him so I couldnt tell how he is looking at me.

I couldnt care less. Rio was once my victim too. It was different between me and Kai but Rio also knew me back in the day. The only difference is that Rio didn't change and I learned to be nice with him so aside from Trix, he is one of my classmates that knows me well.

But not too well...

" I dont know the details between you two but all I can say is be careful." Rio spoke. "Your past may not determine your future but sometimes, the ghosts from our pasts hunts us in our present, to sabotage our future. Kai maybe that smart and weak kid back in the day but who knows what he can do now."

This guy.

I smiled at him. "Thank you for the concern."

He then suddenly looked away.

"You know if you need anything, dont hesitate to call me" he muttered.

I sighed.

"Yes I will Rio." I answered back.

A grin formed in his face. Why is he happy all of the sudden?

"Stay single until you're ready for me, okay?" he giggly muttered.

"Don't get too ahead of yourself." I blurted.

He only laughed. "Fine... As long you are ok its fine for me. I'm going to text about the date okay?" he spoke as he stood up.

"Yeah sure..." I answered back.

He started walking away from me. I looked at him and I can tell that he has grown much. I didn't notice it but he was less buff before. He has been practicing so hard.

Well, it's not like it matters to me. Boys always grow up faster than girls. It wouldn't be a surprise to see them all different.

My phone rang and a text came.

'I can't tell it straight to you but you really look amazing today. Hope you will have a good day....Rio'

I smiled.

Yeah, he can be very annoying sometimes but he is really sweet and protective.

I looked towards his direction and I can see him waving towards me. I waved back. I can almost see his smile even that far.

===================================

The day ended quiet fast. So fast I didnt notice that the rest of the students of the school are already going home.

I dont Want to be left alone in the school so I immediately grab my bag and walked downstairs of our building.

As I was about to turn to the main exit, I saw Ms. Allison and Kai talking in the faculty room.

"Oh speaking of, Alpha. Come here for a while."

Guess I don't have a choice. I walked towards Ms Allison and asked why.

"We were talking about the coming dance competition. Kai and his team needs a school government representative to assist with them." she started. "It would be great if you could accompany the team."

Right. Ms. Allison was the dance club adviser.

"I'm sorry but I already approved with the request of the volleyball team." I answered back.

"Oh, so did Sir Johnson asked you?"

"No, their captain asked me. I'm really sorry."

"Oh it's fine. I can really see that we had to look for another solution Kai." she spoke addressing to the guy right in front of us.

"It's okay Ms. Allison" he answered back.

As Ms. Allison bade goodbye, Kai and I decided to go home as well.

"It would be safe for you if we could walk together." He bluntly spoke.

But in my brain. Nope.

I would rather walk home with a dog rather than with him. He talks about safety but who knows what twisted plan he have in his mind again.

Like last night.

"Or maybe you want me to drive you home?" Kai offered as we were both in the parking lot of the school.

I stared at him.

"Maybe not. I don't want any unnecessary things to happen." I answered back as I walk ahead. He was telling something but I was too far to hear him clearly.

Whatever.
