Two days

As Cade made his way back to his room, he was intercepted by the imposing figure of his mother, flanked by two pack guards. His steps faltered, and he couldn't help but let out a heavy sigh as he braced himself for the conversation that was about to unfold.

"Any news from her?" His mother's voice cut through the tense silence, her gaze fixed firmly on her son. Cade clenched his jaw, feeling the weight of her expectations bearing down on him.

"No, nothing yet. You can see that I just woke up," he replied, his tone edged with frustration. He could feel his mother's scrutiny, her piercing gaze boring into him.

"And what made you sleep so long?" Her tone was sharp, accusatory even. Cade's patience was wearing thin, his temper simmering just beneath the surface.

"Mom, why are you being this way?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper as he cast a wary glance around, hoping to avoid any further confrontation in front of the pack members.
