It had already been an hour since she started staring absentmindedly at her phone because he couldn’t find the address of the company’s owner. It wasn’t mentioned in the interviews, of course. She had been scratching her head because of the frustration that she was feeling that only made her curly hair even messier.
She got her phone, hoping that the address of the house of Clyde’s grandmother would miraculously appear on a search engine, but of course, it wasn’t online. When she searched on her social media account, looking for her name, the only thing that she saw was the page of the company, and what was the company all about.
She was already feeling the strong urge to call her boss, Zara, but she was afraid that she’d scold her more. She didn’t even bother searching for Clyde because she knew that the guy didn’t have any social media accounts. She had already tried searching for him before.
How about Kyle?
Natasha tried searching for his name instead but to no avail. However, she saw a profile that had the name ‘Kylaire D.E.’ When she saw that, she pondered. The name looked like a combination of Kyle and Claire while the D.E. probably mean del Espania. Was it only a coincidence? She couldn’t contain the excitement that she was feeling as she looked through the account’s pictures, but there weren’t actual photos of them. The only picture there was a picture of the band’s logo which was Kronicklez.
Sheetttt... This is really Kyle’s!
She was quick to send a private message. She no longer cared. That was her last and only resort that she could think of.
Good evening! Is this Sir Kyle’s account? I am the assistant that he hired for Miss Zara during the last job fair. She has commanded me to fetch the clothes that would be needed for the photo shoot tomorrow, saying that the clothes are in Mrs. Gloria del Espania’s house. She’s your grandmother, right? Unfortunately, she didn’t give me the address of the house as I should be the one who’d look for it instead, she said. Can you give me the address, please? Please?
She was already pleading in the last part of her message. What she was doing was a punch on the moon, but at least she tried to find a way to look for the address. If she’d fail to do so, then she should just prepare herself for Miss Zara’s scolding tomorrow.
Natasha didn’t let go of the phone. She even forgot to eat because of the first task that her boss had given her as she kept on looking at the message that she sent, hoping to get a reply, but it wasn’t even seen.
Suddenly, her phone rang, and she quickly looked at it. She almost jumped in joy when she saw that there was a reply to the message that she sent.
Assistant? Oh, the colorful one? Yeah, I remember. Really, Zara’s already making things harder for you? Haha. Okay, give me your number. I'll call you.
She quickly sent her number to the guy, still couldn’t believe that he really replied to her message.
After a while, her phone rang, and she immediately knew that Kyle was already calling.
"H-hello?" Her voice wasn’t that loud when she answered the call.
"Okay, I just want to make sure that you’re really the one that I hired as I don’t want to give my grandmother’s address to a random stranger,” he said.
"Yes, Sir,” she agreed.
“What did I take from you that day?”
"My purity?" That came out of her mouth without her thinking as she remembered the heat from the kiss that he gave her in her dream.
"What?!" the guy exclaimed in surprise before he chortled a laugh.
Natasha felt her blood rushing towards her cheeks because of that. She slapped herself. She didn’t even know where that answer came from.
"I like you. You are funny. Is that the reason why you dressed like..."
"Like a clown?" She couldn’t help but feel annoyed after she said that.
Just like that, the same annoyance that she felt towards the guy came back raging like a buffalo as she could almost see his annoying smile in her mind.
"No! I was supposed to say that you dressed in a very unique way and that we need employees like you,” he explained.
She didn’t say anything and just made a face even when he couldn’t really see her.
"I'll hang up. I think it would be better if I can see you just to be sure. We'll do a video call instead.” The guy dropped the call after saying that.
She wasn’t even given a minute to react because her phone immediately rang because of a video call. She panicked before brushing her hand in her messy hair even when it did nothing. She didn’t tie it because she was only at home. She couldn't even find her hair tie.
Shit!
She no longer had a choice but to answer his call. Her other hand was holding her hair so that it wouldn’t cover her face. In an instant, she saw the handsome face of the guy on the screen.
He wasn’t wearing any shirt!
The guy was scrutinizing her, and his gaze stopped at her hair that she was already holding back.
"Hmm, yeah, it was you. Okay, I will send you the address after this. What's your name again?" he asked.
"Tas... Natasha," she answered briefly. Her hand was a little sore already because she was still holding back her hair.
"Alright. There are a lot of Natashas in our workplace so I will just call you, Tash. Is that okay?" He was massaging his chin when he said that.
Tash? Isn’t that the name he called her before he kissed her in that dream?
She quickly shook her head to push those thoughts away. It was only a dream. Only a dream.
She didn’t want to betray Clyde. Kyle wasn’t even her type in the first place! She felt her hair rising as she thought about him. When she shook her hair, she accidentally let go of her hair, making it cover her face in an instant.
She even heard the guy laugh once more.
"What a hair! I can't even see your face now," he chuckled.
She couldn’t grab every single lock of her hair because her other hand was holding her cellphone so she just settled to put strands of her hair behind her ear to keep them off her face.
She saw that Kyle was smiling, almost grinning, as he stared at her on the screen.
"Alright, I'll just end this video call then send you the address," he said, still grinning.
"Yes, Sir," she answered, having a hard time because of her troublesome hair.
"See you tomorrow, Tash. Good luck on your first day." He smiled once more before ending the video call.
The moment she was finally able to breathe properly was when she could no longer see his face on the screen of her phone. She let go of her hair because of that. After a moment, her phone rang, and she received a message from him. It was the address of his grandmother’s house.
She was certain that the two siblings already had their own homes. She couldn’t help but think about who accompanied the old woman in her house aside from her helpers and maids. She shrugged.
She couldn’t help but smile as she was reading the address that the guy had given her.
You thought that you can get the better of me, Zara? I am methodical. You cannot easily step on me just like what you did to that girl.
She quickly shifted her gaze to look at the pictures of Clyde on the cabinet.
I will do anything for you Clyde, my love. Just wait, and your heart will beat for my name no matter what it takes, even when I need to follow everything that is written in my grandmother’s book.
That was when her stomach started rumbling. Right, she still hadn’t eaten yet. She stood up before looking for the comb and hair tie. She planned to go out, and eat in a small cafeteria outside as there were a lot of cafeterias nearby. She saw them first when she was accompanied by her grandmother to her boarding house.
The next day, she woke up at four in the morning. It was her first day at work so she was adamant to do things well. She was wearing green polka dots and a pair of pink slacks. Meanwhile, she put her thick hair into a bun, making it look as if she was carrying a big ball of hair in her head again. She also put on her big glasses to complete the look. She only drank a cup of coffee because she still didn’t feel like eating as it was still very early. Before the clock struck five, she had already left the boarding house. There were already a number of people outside the apartment as there were stores lined up nearby. She was only walking, reading the address that was sent to her. She didn’t want to hail a cab because it would only cost her more money. As she was standing beside the road, waiting for a jeepney, she asked people for directions, and she was told to ride a jeepney twice before she could finally reach her destination. Even when it was still early,
She froze on the spot the moment she reached the higher floor. She counted the rooms in there, and she saw that there were six big rooms. Which room was the head maid referring to? She was doomed. She couldn’t remember what the old woman said. She slowly walked into the hallway, trying to remember what the old maid said.Did she say right or left? She gathered a deep breath. She didn’t have any other choice but to guess. Whatever room that wasn’t locked, that was probably it.She walked towards the first room on the left side before slowly turning the knob of the door. It didn’t turn completely, locked, so it wasn’t the right room. She walked towards the right side instead and did the same thing, but just like the left room, it didn’t open.Breathing deeply once more, she walked towards the direction of the third room from the right. That room was also locked. What a pity! She couldn’t really remembe
While they were on their ride to the company, Natasha kept looking at Clyde whose reflection she could see in the rearview mirror. She knew that her face was already red because of how she stared at his handsome face. She wasn’t really thinking as she put a few strands of her hair behind her ear even when there weren’t really any strands that were all over her face. As she did that, she couldn’t help but smile, acting cute. She was even surprised when Kyle, whose forehead was creased, blocked her view, and a few seconds after, he saw her annoying smile once more."I knew it," he said softly before sitting properly and looking at his brother who was in the front seat as well. She followed his gaze and saw that he looked really amused. She fixed her countenance, and just looked outside the window of the car, feeling slightly ashamed. She didn’t hear a single word from the guy again until they reached the office. She was quick to get
Clyde entered a massive room on that floor. She trailed after him, her eyes wandering across the room. She saw several pieces of equipment that were used for the pictorials. She even saw an umbrella-like object, and she guessed it to be something that the photographers used to manipulate the lighting. There weren’t many people there. When she saw that Clyde placed all of the clothes that he was holding on a big table in the corner, she put the ones that she was carrying there as well. After getting the weight of the clothes off her arms, she stretched them as they had become sore already."Alright, just wait for Zara here." Clyde faced her, fixing the wristwatch that he was wearing."Thanks, Sir." Her smile was wide, it seemed like she was acting cute as she fixed her glasses. The guy only nodded at her before walking out of the room. When the guy was no longer in sight, she roamed her eyes in the room once more. It was the same room as the studios
Nicole had nothing to do but to frown as Natasha fixed the girl’s hair. Zara, on the other hand, kept looking at them. She didn’t even bother hiding how entertained she was watching the expression on Nicole’s face. She thought that there was a secret war that was going on between the two ladies, and there was only one reason behind that. It was no other than Kyle, of course.Damn! What did they see in that guy for them to be so crazy about him? Yes, he looked like Clyde, but for her, her love was way better than him. She turned her head to look at the direction of the guy who was still busy preparing the background design for the photo shoot."Ouch!" screamed Nicole before giving her a glare."Ah, sorry!" she apologized. She really hadn’t noticed that she had been twirling her hair hard already. She was doing her hair like what she did with hers, just as what Kyle requested. The guy even said that they no longer needed to call the
Kyle really did order lunch for the both of them. However, the guy just ate his food quickly so Natasha had no choice but to eat in a quick manner as well. She had also picked up the clutter after finishing before the guy became busy at what he was doing once more. Most of the time, she would just be staring at whatever Kyle was doing. Sometimes, he’d ask for her opinions regarding the pictures that he was editing. In fairness, the results were really good. Nicole didn’t look like a clown in the pictures even when her clothing style and hair style were used for the photo shoot. She couldn’t help but feel happy as she quietly stared at Kyle who was busy with his laptop and camera. She only talked whenever he talked to her. She preferred it better when the guy was serious like that because he wasn’t annoying. What she did was that she just imagined that it was Clyde that she was together with since the twins looked like each other in the first pla
It had already been quite a while since she started crying, Shirley listening on the other line."It's really really heartbreaking! I'm already this close to him, and now I'll be knowing that he is getting married already? I no longer want this! I'll return there tomorrow immediately," she shouted as the sobs went on.Her tears were already all over her face, and she had no plans on wiping them off just so she'd feel the circumstance better."They'll still be getting married, they're not yet married. You still have a chance. You're even the one who said that you'll do anything to be Mrs. del Espania, right? How would that happen if you'll just go back here?" Shirley said in a gentle voice. That was when Natasha stopped sobbing.
There were vendo machines in different floors so she quickly went there, trying hard to remember what they told her to buy. She bought a canned coke first and a chocolate drink that was in a bottle before putting the two inside the big pockets of her pair of slacks. Afterwards, she bought a cup of cappuccino and black coffee. She walked away from the vendo slowly so that the coffee wouldn't spill. She even almost dropped the cups when she almost bumped against a guy."Oops!" the guy said, surprised, before holding both of her hands to help her get a steady footing. She immediately recognized his voice. It was Kyle once more! Why did it seem like it had already become normal for the two of them to have that kind of scene?
