CHAPTER 17

Nicole had nothing to do but to frown as Natasha fixed the girl’s hair. Zara, on the other hand, kept looking at them. She didn’t even bother hiding how entertained she was watching the expression on Nicole’s face. She thought that there was a secret war that was going on between the two ladies, and there was only one reason behind that. It was no other than Kyle, of course.

Damn! What did they see in that guy for them to be so crazy about him? Yes, he looked like Clyde, but for her, her love was way better than him. She turned her head to look at the direction of the guy who was still busy preparing the background design for the photo shoot.

"Ouch!" screamed Nicole before giving her a glare.

"Ah, sorry!" she apologized. She really hadn’t noticed that she had been twirling her hair hard already. She was doing her hair like what she did with hers, just as what Kyle requested.

The guy even said that they no longer needed to call the make-up artist because Nicole’s face was already fine. He was also the one who would do the editing so the make up would be unnecessary.

Natasha concluded that Kyle probably didn’t like the studio to be crowded with so many people whenever there was a pictorial going on. He even asked Zara to leave the vicinity when the photo shoot was about to start already. The girl was about to oppose his request, but she could no longer do anything when Kyle repeated what he said in a serious manner already.

As she saw him work, she could see how serious he was with what he did. There wasn’t even any trace of the annoyingly playful look that he would always have in his face. He even looked more serious than Clyde when he was in that mood. She was even about to leave the room as well when Kyle stopped her.

"Please stay, Tash," he commanded without looking at her because his eyes were already fixed on the model in front.

She didn’t say anything, and just walked back to her initial position before sitting down, looking at the two. Kyle was giving several instructions to Nicole while he was also taking pictures with the camera that he was holding. Natasha couldn't help but be entertained as she watched them. It really looked like they were already used to that line of work.

She went to give Nicole a bottle of mineral water when they were taking a short break. She also assisted her as the girl changed into a set of fresh new clothes.

They stayed there for several hours until the photo shoot ended. She picked up the clothes that Nicole used before putting them inside the basket so that they’d be washed by the one assigned to wash them already.

Nicole was already dressed up as well when she walked towards Kyle who was still busy looking at the pictures. She was even the one who was surprised when the girl suddenly embraced Kyle as the guy was still looking at his camera.

"Wow, I thought I looked so odd but it turned out amazing! You’re really amazing, hon," she said in a gentle manner, her lips almost kissing the neck of the guy.

She saw no reaction from Kyle as he was still busy with whatever he was doing with the camera.

Natasha, on the other hand, felt the hair around his body standing because of what she saw. She decided to look away, and just continued cleaning things up. That was when the door opened, and Zara entered once more.

She saw the look of anger that was in the girl’s face when she saw the arms of Nicole that were already clinging into the waist of Kyle. Her steps were big as she walked towards the two’s direction.

"Kyle, we'll have lunch together, remember?" Her stares towards Nicole were sharp, they even seemed like they would hurt the girl in a second.

Nicole was not faltered with what she said, and just gave Zara a sweet smile. It was Natasha who was feeling nervous about the situation as she looked at them.

"You go ahead, Zara. I’ll just finish what I’m doing first. You may go now, Nicole. We're done today. Thank you," Kyle said without even bothering to look at the two girls.

No one moved a muscle when Kyle freed himself from the arms of Nicole before walking towards the direction of a table, and sitting on the chair in front of it.

"Both of you can leave now because I cannot work properly here,” he said, wanting them away.

Natasha quickly picked up the remaining things so that she could walk out together with the two girls. Hesitant, Nicole had no choice but to turn her back after putting her bag on her shoulder before walking out without saying anything.

Zara, on the other hand, didn’t say anything about it, but it looked as if she shifted her annoyance towards her instead.

"Miss Policarpio, after you’re done here, go to my office, and clean the mess there before you eat your lunch.” There was a hint of annoyance in her voice.

She was about to open her mouth to talk when Kyle spoke up.

"No, I will be needing her here, Zara. Find someone who’ll clean your mess for you or clean them yourself because I’ll be needing her here all day,” he said with his baritone voice.

Natasha wasn’t used when the guy was acting that way. She was used to him always annoying her with his teasing smile. It seemed like the guy was more appealing in comparison to his twin.

Oops! Why is she comparing the love of her life to his twin? She quickly shook her head to disagree with her initial thoughts.

“Why do you need her? She’s finished cleaning the mess here, right?” Zara said, confused.

"Do I need to explain everything to you, Zara? Do I have to ask for your permission?" That was when Kyle finally looked at the girl.

Disbelief was plastered right across the girl’s face when he said that. It seemed like Zara had forgotten that she was also an employee, and Kyle was their boss. Natasha looked down to hide the smile on her face.

‘You’re acting superior, girl,’ her mind said,

"What's so funny, Miss Policarpio?" Zara glared at her as she asked that question. The girl probably noticed her smile.

She quickly looked up to look at the girl, but the latter was quick to walk out of the room as well.

She heard Kyle sighing so she looked at him. She saw that she was already massaging his neck, and was already stretching his arms as well.

"I'm starving. I'm sure you also are, Tash. Let’s just order some food. We’ll just eat before we go back to work,” he said, massaging his stomach before winking at her.

The natural Kyle was finally back.

"What do you want to eat?” he asked her.

"Uh, you decide,” she said shortly.

"Okay. You’re not a picky eater, right? It looks like diet isn’t in your vocabulary,” he said, and the smile on his face widened.

Her forehead creased.

Wait! Did he just imply that she was fat? Her gaze immediately dropped to look at her stomach.

The guy chortled a laugh upon noticing what she did.

"What I mean is since you’re not a model, you aren’t very strict with what you eat so you’re probably fine with anything, right? I didn’t mean that you’re fat or something. Dating models is also tiring, you know, because almost every time, I can only order water for them because of their strict diet,” he said, still laughing before he looked at her stomach that she was looking at a while ago.

She saw that the guy was already doing something with his phone as he explained to her. Still, she couldn’t help but feel conscious about her body even when she knew that she wasn’t actually fat. She just looked fat when surrounded by slim models.

"It looks like you only hire the malnourished ones here,” she said that way too loud than what she intended, and that didn’t survive Kyle’s hearing.

He laughed hard once more because of what she said. She just grimaced at him before crossing her arms against her stomach to hide it.
