CHAPTER 27

Since then, she would see Mrs. del Espania every day because the old woman wanted to personally look through the designs that the designers were making. She liked it though because her grandson, Clyde, would always be tailing her. She knew that the guy was worried about his grandmother, especially when it was the doctor's advice to be strict when it came to the things that the old woman should do. They didn't want her to be tired. She would also see Kyle from time to time, but she also did her best to avoid the guy because she knew that he would only make fun of her because of the video that she sent him that night.

She was also thankful for the presence of their very boss because Zara couldn't be the devil that she usually was. She hadn't even heard the girl scream at people whenever Mrs. del Espania was near. Meanwhile, she was still roaming around, asking designers and models everything that they needed. She was also the one who was assigned to get them some snacks.

Her smile was wide as she handed Venus her snack. She was currently being measured by a designer.

"Thanks, but no. I am prohibited from eating snacks because of my diet. You may eat it yourself," she declined with a smile on her face.

"Thank you," she replied with a smile on her face as well.

She also gave the girl's designer some snacks, but she told her to just place them on the table as she was still busy.

"By the way, do you have anything to wear to the party already?" asked Venus.

She stopped. The masquerade ball that was also the birthday of Mrs. del Espania hadn't been processed in her mind yet.

"I think I won't be going. I really don't have anything fit to wear there," she said before letting out a sigh.

"You should go. It would be an extravagant party that you shouldn't miss. About the dress, I will help you find one," convinced Venus.

Even before she got to reply, Zara called her. She bid her farewell before walking towards her boss.

She almost stepped back the moment she saw Kyle beside Zara. That was the first time after some time that they had seen each other, especially after she knew about the guy having a copy of her video.

"Hello, Tash!" Kyle quickly greeted her the moment he saw her.

There was a teasing look in his eyes as he stared at her. Meanwhile, Zara's eyebrows raised when she heard Kyle greet her.

"G-good morning, Sir, Maam," she greeted the moment she was finally near them.

"I want you to get all the designers' sketches, and put them on my table so I can check them one by one," ordered Zara.

"Okay, Miss," she was quick to answer.

"Are you going to attend the party?" Kyle suddenly asked her.

Why did it seem like people liked asking her that question?

She saw the unfaltering stare that Zara had been giving her, she was also waiting for her answer.

"Ahmm, n-no, sir, because I'll be back home so I won't be able to go." Luckily, her mind was able to make up an excuse.

Actually, she had already decided not to go because of the way Zara looked at her. It was like there was an answer that the girl was wanting to hear, and she wasn't wrong because after she said that, the girl smiled slightly.

"Maybe you can go home the week after. We actually want all of our employees to be there, especially those we are new in this company just like you. I wish you would change your mind, Miss Policarpio." Kyle had a serious look on his face when he said that as if what he said was true.

"There's always another time, Kyle. Let's not force Miss Policarpio," Zara said in a soft voice.

Kyle was about to talk once more, but she bid her farewell to do what Zara commanded her to do.

When she finally gathered all of the designs, she went up to put them inside Zara's office.

It had already been days since she last held the book of enchantment because she was already losing motivation. It seemed like everything that she was doing failed. But it didn't mean that she'd give up that easily. She was just resting for a bit before taking the next step.

Every night, aside from looking at Clyde's pictures, she was also busy gathering knowledge about the new rival of the company which was the agency owned by Reina Grande.

There was even a lot of emerging news about the woman since the first edition of their magazine was released. Dashing Ash Agency had a different strategy. The models in their magazine weren't famous. It was even like they were an agency that would give makeovers to different girls. There were even pictures of the girls before they had a makeover. They looked normal, the kind that one wouldn't have a second look at, but when the makeover was done and when they were already wearing the designs of Miss Reina, they looked like the professional models that were in the mainstream media. It was also mentioned in the interview that the models didn't undergo any surgery as she believed that every person in the world had an underlying beauty beneath, and that beauty would blossom through fashion, and that's the essence of the agency that she was managing.

There was a smile on her face as she looked at the models of the Dashing Ash Agency online. It seemed like she had a chance.

She really liked watching the interview with Miss Reina. She couldn't really point it out, but she felt a sense of comfort towards the girl. Maybe it was because she didn't immediately judge with the physical attributes as the sole basis.

She also checked Claire's social media account. That was when she was able to stalk Clyde because the girl had a lot of pictures with Clyde in her account as well as her page. She couldn't help but feel hurt and sad about it, but she chose not to get ahead of her emotions.

She knew that she wasn't the type who would easily give up. As long as they still weren't married, she still had a big chance. What she needed was to make the next steps succeed. She decided not to take a step further as everyone was still busy because of the approaching birthday and masquerade party of Mrs. del Espania. She would let the big event pass before continuing with her bewitchment.
