OBSESSION - CHAPTER THIRTY NINE

I've come to realize that appearances can be deceiving. It's hard to believe I initially thought Rótìmí was the owner of the firm and that Gabriel and Erica were a perfect match. I stood by the dining table, pouring a substantial amount of milk into the baby bottle. However, when memories of the kiss I shared with Gabriel flooded my mind, fear gripped me, causing the milk to spill on the table. Jadesola noticed and approached me, taking over the baby's meal preparation. "Are you alright?" She inquired with curiosity.

"Of course... I just have a lot on my mind," I lied. There was no way I could confess to her about the brief, intimate kiss shared with my ex. I couldn't bring myself to admit it.

"Zach?" She said.

"Yes..." I sighed, sitting down and watching her prepare the baby's meal in my place.

"I'm sorry... Zach and I didn't work out because we were both too focused on our careers and neglected to find a balance. You shouldn't make the same mistake," she advised.
