BURNING DESIRES - CHAPTER FORTY TWO

For the first time in a while, I went for a run around the neighbourhood. It was challenging because I hadn't been active lately, but it was the only way to distract myself from the strong emotions building up inside me.

When I got back home, I was sweating and out of breath. I was surprised to see Erica waiting at my doorstep with a sad expression on her face.

"I had no idea you work out," she said, surprised by my sudden workout routine.

"Yes, I do it now and then," I responded, trying to catch my breath.

"Hey, I'm really sorry about Gabriel and me acting so uncivilized earlier," she apologized.

"Oh, that's okay. It's pretty normal for couples to have their moments," I replied, downplaying the situation.

But deep down, I knew it bothered me enough to go out and clear my head that same evening.

"Are you sure?" she questioned, sceptical of my nonchalant response.

"Absolutely," I lied.
