Chapter 9

Miranda was busy with her paperwork when she heard a loud knock.

“Come in.”

“Hey,” Eric said. She was, however, surprised to see him there, smiling at her.

“Hey,” she said hesitantly.

“May I take a seat?” He asked her.

“Oh, yeah— I apologize. Please take a seat.” She scratched her forehead. “So, what brings you here?” She asked him curiously.

“I have been thinking a lot about everything relating to us, and I am tired of us shouting and insulting each other. Things may have changed significantly in the past, but you are still the woman I have always loved and the mother of my child, so I wanted to call a truce.” He explained everything to her.

Miranda was surprised at Eric's words. She was not expecting this. With how things had been between them, she was startled by his sudden change of behaviour.

“I am not sure how to respond to that, Eric. I think I’d like that.” Nonetheless, she decided to take the bait. At the very least, she will get to spend some time with her daughter, e
