Chapter 14

Instead of having a nightmare, Miranda was simply tossing and turning in her bed. She knew she couldn’t sleep, so she grabbed her jacket and headed to the Midnight Snackers.

She was surprised to see Eric sitting at her table when she walked into the restaurant. She took a deep breath and approached him.

“Hey. I didn’t expect to see you here.” She stated this while sitting across from him.

“I just wanted to see what it is about this place that draws you in. But I understand now. It helps to know that we are not the only ones who have a messed up life.” He informed her.

“Eric—” She sighs tiredly, clearly as upset as he is about what is going on with them.

“Chuck it. Forget what I said. I think I should leave.” He was about to leave when something happened that caused him to stop dead in his tracks.
