The next morning, Eric stroked Miranda's hair while she slept soundly. She was wearing a small smile on her lips. When she opened her eyes, she saw him staring at her with the expression she had longed to see for the previous seven years. Nobody could ever know how much she yearned for him all these years.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” She asked him nervously. After all these years, this felt new to her.

“I am just making up for the last seven years. I swear to God, Miranda, if you hadn't killed him, I would have done it myself, and I could guarantee you that he wouldn't have died just once.” He stated.

She attempted to calm him down. “It's all over now. He has gone far away from our life.”

“How did you sleep?” He asked her worriedly.

“Surprisingly, the best I have had in the last few years. It's rightly said that a home is where the heart is. How about you?” She asked him.

“The best. I have missed you so much, Mira.” Eric told her while pecking her cheeks.
