SASHA’S POV

I sat at the Devon Estate, thinking about how perfect everything was going. The plan I had concocted with my mother had worked flawlessly. Getting Mrs. Devon, Xander’s mom, to believe that I was pregnant with the fake pregnancy results my mother had arranged was incredibly easy.

I told her I wanted her to be the first to know since I didn’t know how Xander would react, given that we weren’t even engaged yet. With a few tears in my eyes, she was convinced.

"Mrs. Devon, I wanted you to be the first to know that I'm... pregnant."

Her eyes widened in surprise, but I could see the wheels turning in her mind.

"Pregnant?" she said.

"I know," I replied, letting a tear slip down my cheek. "I wanted you to know first because I don't know how Xander will react. I'm scared."

Mrs. Devon’s expression softened immediately. She took my hands in hers and said, "Scared of what? Don’t worry, dear. We will sort this out, and Xander will do the right thing."
