ADELINE’S POV

I woke up early that morning, feeling nervous and determined.

It had been five days since I came to Xander's house to escape the relentless swarm of reporters outside my house.

Today, finally, they seemed to have dispersed, and I felt a strong urge to go back home.

Xander had been kind enough to offer his place, reassuring me every day that it was safer here, away from the prying eyes and questions. I was tired of hiding, it was time to finally do something about it.

I found Xander in the kitchen, brewing coffee. He turned to me with concerned expression as I entered.

"You sure about this, Adeline?" He asked, handing me a steaming mug.

"Maybe you should wait a bit longer, just to be safe."

I took a sip of the coffee, feeling its warmth spread through me. "I can't hide forever, Xander," I replied softly.

"I appreciate everything you've done for me, but I need to go home. I need to know what's waiting for me there."

He sighed, his expression conflicted.
