ADELINE’S POV

"This doesn't look good. Let's go to my place instead." Xander said.

I nodded, feeling a knot in my stomach. Her turned the car around and headed towards his mansion.

The drive was quiet, and I kept glancing at my phone, but there were no new messages since I had no signal on my phone. What could this be about? Was I in trouble or did something happen.

We arrived at Xander's mansion. The gates slowly opened, and he drove in. The driveway was long and lined with trees. It felt very calm.

"This is my private mansion, no one will find you here.” He said and I nod.

Let's get inside," he continued,

I followed him into the house. It was grand and beautifully decorated, but I couldn't focus on anything. My mind was racing. Once inside, I finally checked my phone.

There was a message from Clarissa: "Check the news now."

"Xander, turn on the TV," I said, my voice shaking. He did as I asked, and we both stared at the screen.
