Can't let her go

Derrick's POV

She shut the door in my face. Naomi fucking shut the door on my face. It was so hard to believe. I stood outside the door for ten minutes before driving back home.

My sister, Diana sat on a chair blowing out bubbles from her gum. Without giving a second glance, I moved to the bar and poured myself a drink. I drank all at once and pour another.

Naomi who wouldn't dare to look me in the face twice shut the door to my face. It seemed unbelievable. The drink was hot and cool my nerves a bit.

Yes, I was expecting her to be aggressive but I wasn't expecting her to shut the freaking door on my face. It's been five years since she last saw me. I was expecting her to welcome me and maybe have a decent conversation. Then I can start persuading her to marry me back.

I already did my investigation immediately after she came back and I know for certain that she was not married.

"Bro, calm down. Are you trying to get yourself drunk?" Diana said.

I raised my brow and they were two Diana's. A clear Diana and another that kept on coming and going. I have never been good with alcohol and the fact that she was playing a trick on me annoys me. I poured more drinks, splashing some on the table. One of the Dianas came closer trying to collect the drink from me.

"It's enough. I don't know what happened but you shouldn't be drinking this much. You can't even handle alcohol."

I gulped while she moved back. She successfully collected the bottle and drink from me while pulling me up the stairs. I wasn't even drunk, so I removed her hand from my waist and started walking to my room myself. It seemed to be a difficult task but slowly and steadily I finally got to my room. I opened a drawer where I kept things that reminded me of Naomi and started throwing them on the floor.

Fuck Naomi.

Fuck her for becoming an addiction

Fuck her for shutting the door on my face.

I kept throwing everything on the floor, then the floor started slipping. I lay on the floor, so I won't fall.

The moment I opened my eyes, I saw a leg, tracing it up it was Ricky. He was holding a bottle of water and by the amount of water on my head. He was pouring the on me. My head aches, so I closed them and reopened them again. I was on the floor with things Naomi forgot that I kept. Some were broken and some were torn. I had no idea what was happening.

"You really had it bad, man. Try to sit down." I listened to him but that seemed to increase the movement in my head and I winced. He stretched a drug to me and the bottle of water in his hand.

"Thanks, man," I said while using the drugs.

I pulled myself up and sat on the bed. The state of my room was bad.

"What happened? Diana called me. She thinks something happened and you couldn't handle it. She was scared for you, man."

I tried to laugh but ended up smiling, "Diana is just being dramatic. It's nothing big."

He shook his head. "The state I met you in state otherwise. What happened?"

I knew I can't hide things from him. "Naomi happened?"

Then I narrated how I got to know Naomi was back. How I hired a P.I to find out where she lives and how she had been living. How I went to find her and how she shut the door to my face without explanation. I was expecting him to pity my condition but he laughed.

He laughed so hard, that he fell off his chair and rolled on the carpet. I continued starting at him as he laughed like I told him the funniest things on earth.

"When you are done laughing, let me know?"

"Guy... Guy... it's funny." he paused to laugh more. "You actually expected her to welcome you like a king. Dude, you divorced her. She had nothing but you and you divorced her not bothered about where she was going to stay or how she was going to survive and you expect her to welcome you back. it's funny."

Yeah. I fucked up big time. I know that now.

"But that was when I had no idea she was innocent. I thought she was lying."

"I told you, man. I told you girls like Naomi are innocent and they don't do shit. You choose not to believe me. You were blinded by what others were showing you."

Does he have to bring that up again? I learnt my lesson. Why won't anyone believe I learnt my lesson and let me be?

"I know. And I am ready to explain all that to her but she didn't give me the chance to explain myself. She shut the door on my face. I was perplexed. Naomi would never do something like that. She was always obedient and would do whatever you asked her to. She would apologise even when I was in the wrong but this Naomi that shut the door to my face feels different. She was like an entirely different person."

"I guess she changed. Situation and circumstances changes people."

But I don't want her to change. I want my Naomi back. I want the woman I was married to. I don't mind whatever it was going to cost me, I was going to get her back and she would be mine again.

"So, What do I do now?"

He shrugged. "Nothing. Let her be and move on with your life. Forget about her."

"Hell no! If everyone doesn't know that, you know I can't do without her. You know I can't leave her. I tried that and how did it go. I am stuck with blondes and picturing them to be her."

"Then what will you do?"

I smirked. "I have you and I have the perfect plan."
