The resounding crash of shattering glass and scattering metal echoed behind me, causing me to flinch in startled surprise. I froze mid-stride, the sound reverberating through the hallway, a stark reminder of the fury I had left behind in the office just a moment ago.

His anger was understandable, and I didn't begrudge him that. I was well aware that my words, my attitude were infuriating. Yet, truly, I had no other course but to utter those harsh truths. The reality of what transpired between Demir and me, it was a secret I could not share.
