Rima’s POV
When he came back to the office I kept my mouth shut about the phone call and did my best to clear his schedule without causing anything to be disrupted or push us into an impossible deadline to meet, planning to take on his extra work for him while he visits his family. I wasn’t sure if he will agree to even go with his brother or not but something told me that little shit can make anyone do anything even his currently sourpuss brother has no chance against him.
I was hoping he would leave and give me a few days of peace and quiet to absorb enough power and continue enduring his extreme hard as fuck attitude because it doesn’t seem like it will change anytime soon especially after the last two days filled with drama between us. I was looking forward to it.
Something gnawed at me till the end of the day. Even though he does not deserve my consideration but I convinced myself to do it for the old Jacob, definitely not this version bec
Rima’s POVTrue to his word, five minutes later we were pulling up in front of a sprawling shopping mall.As I stepped out of the car, I saw Travis also exiting the vehicle. Thinking that he was planning to accompany me, I turned to him."You don’t need to come with me. I’ll manage on my own" I said, but he quickly reassured me."I thought I’d use the time to do a bit of personal shopping as well" he replied."Oh, okay then. Let’s go" I responded, not giving it much thought. We entered the mall and went our separate ways.As I navigated through the busy mall, my eyes scanned various stores, searching for an item that would stand out, a gift that would be perfect.Spotting a jewelry store, I made my decision. This was as good a place as any to start, I thought, and headed towards it.As I stepped inside, the tinkling of a bell announced my arrival. The store was empty except for a tall, elega
Rima’s POVDay three of Jacob's reign of terror had dawned.I found myself becoming increasingly adept at juggling his outlandish demands and labyrinthine tasks. Even the most minor of typing errors didn't escape his eagle eyes. His relentless, stern demeanor was a constant, like a storm cloud perpetually hanging overhead. I, for my part, strived to shield my annoyance, putting on a façade of acceptance — an implicit agreement to the way he chose to treat an assistant. However, I couldn't shake off Lucas's advice, a seed planted in the back of my mind. How much longer could I suppress the urge to show Mr. Snow a different side of me? My patience was wearing thin, much like the waning day, and anticipation for Lucas's surprise visit added to my restlessness.A flurry of questions stormed my mind. How would Jacob react to the surprise? Would he agree to accompany Lucas? What would his response be upon discovering I'd kept my knowledge of
Rima’s POV"No, I'm not!" I retorted, my voice rigid with disbelief and more than a hint of defiance. His eyes gleamed in the dim light, his icy tone matching the frost in his gaze "Excuse me?"I could feel the rush of adrenaline, a surge of indignation that had my words tumbling out in a heated rush "There's nothing to excuse" I snapped, my composure slipping with every word "You're going on a family trip, Mr. Snow. That is none of my business. So, have a wonderful time, but I'm not going anywhere!"He countered, a note of frosty determination in his voice "I won't just sit around doing nothing for three days, we will be working whenever we have free time""Kezzeb bnus A’ynak! Kellu haki fadi!" (Bullshit! You’re lying and using work as a lame excuse for it!) I erupted in a fervor, my voice veering into my native Arabic as my emotions spiraled beyond my control. The words were an angry exclamation against his insistence, a fiery a
Jacob's POV"Hmmm, she bought you a gift to take with you, that's considerate despite you being a total jerk to her. I wonder why she'd do that for you" Lucas remarked, his voice dripping with sarcasm.I shot him a pointed look. He was finding this situation far too entertaining, his eyes gleaming with a curiosity I recognized all too well, despite our year-long separation. Lucas had always been like this - unnervingly perceptible, and insufferably annoying when he had a mental puzzle to solve."Why did
Jacob’s POV"Let's not waste time bickering. Get your laptop out and let's work on the proposal we were supposed to tackle yesterday" I ordered, pulling out my own laptop. Work had always been a successful distraction for her before, and I saw no reason why it wouldn't work now.Lucas let out a dramatic groan "Oh come on! Can't we take a break for once? How about a game of cards or something?"I shot him a teasing smile "Maybe after we finish some work. Until then, I'd appreciate some peace and qu
Rima’s POV"Where's April?" Jacob's question was directed at the man he had greeted last, the blue-eyed man he had called as David."She's sleeping upstairs. Our little boy arrived late last night, and we just got discharged" David announced, his voice filled with uncontained excitement.A chorus of "Congratulations!" erupted from both Lucas and Jacob simultaneously."Why d
Rima’s POVI stared at Jacob, fear spreading through me as I registered his clenched fists and the fierce look in his eyes. The phone was still pressed to my ear, Savaş's laughter a distant echo."I...I can explain" I stammered, feeling like a deer caught in the headlights. It was his angry look that prompted that spontaneous response but if I really think about it, I honestly have nothing to explain to him, I owe him no explanation whatsoever.Jacob's gaze was a frosty blade, never once wavering
Jacob's POVRe-entering the living room, I found only Mom, Alex, and Lucas still seated. Each of my brothers cradled his own child, each little face bleary-eyed from their recent naps. This was my first in-person encounter with them since they were born.Lucas, with a mischievous twinkle in his eye, turned to his toddler, Hope, whispering excitedly into her ear "Look, Hope" he said, a wicked grin playing on his lips "This is Uncle Jacob, in all his gloriously jealous splendor. Let's say hi"I knew Lucas
