Chapter 117

Celestine's POV

Tiptoeing down the stairs, I glance behind me to see if I have been compromised.

I'm still in the clear. None of the parents heard me leaving my room. I slip out the front door, close it softly behind me, and run out of the property.

Frantically, I spin around in a circle, looking for Lorenzo. I can't find him, and just as the tears start welling up in my eyes again, I see a figure hidden in the shadows away from the streetlights.

Squeezing my eyes, I try to make out the figure as the person inches closer. It's Lorenzo. I would recognize those shoulders anywhere.

Running towards the figure, I wrap my hand around him.

"I missed you." I press my face into his chest, inhaling his scent to try and calm my racing heart.

Lorenzo's hands also wrap around me. "I missed you too," he whispers into my hair. "I'm sorry I got us caught. Has he told your Mother?"

"I don't think so. And it wasn't your fault that we got caught. Don't blame yourself." We were both kissing each other.
