Lucas and Alex had just sat down at their table when Alex's eyes caught sight of the familiar person in the corner.

"Alice?" Alex wasn't entirely sure if the woman he had spotted was indeed Alice, considering how improbable her presence here was.

"Alice? Why are you suddenly mentioning her?" Lucas was perplexed by the sudden mention of Alice's name. Alex gestured towards someone behind Lucas, leading him to turn around and follow Alex's gaze.

When Lucas laid eyes on Alice, he was utterly astonished, mirroring Alex's reaction.

"What on earth is she doing here?" Lucas muttered. He shot Alex a searching look, expecting an explanation.

"How would I know?" Alex replied. As they observed her, Alice rose from her table and began to walk.

"She's already seen us," Lucas realized she had already noticed them. When he saw her lower her head and cover her face with her hand, he understood she was trying to avoid them.
