"Hello Adrian," I said dryly. I was not impressed by his fake concerns for me. He did look worried about me, and his concerns seemed genuine. Perhaps, it was at this moment. If I died now, all of his plans of taking over my pack would be foiled. He needed me alive for a while.

"Are you okay? Did Alvis hurt you?" Adrian leaned down and asked. He looked up and glared at Alvis. "Why didn't you take it easy on her, brother?" he snarled.

"I treated her fair and square. She isn't as weak as you think," Alvis barked.

I felt grateful for his words. If he didn't believe in me and trained me, I wouldn't have made it this far.

"I'm fine. This is just a game," I said. "Alvis didn't hurt me. It was the arrow that came flying at me did. If you need to scold anyone, scold Owen."

Adrian took my hand in his. "You look distraught, Lindsey. And your ears are bleeding. I'm sorry I didn't get to you sooner. I got really involved in the game and wasn't paying attention to you."
