Phoebe

I’ve lived with Liam for a week now, and I have the day off. Liam is playing a football game in another city tonight, which has given me the perfect opportunity to call Adrian.

The only problem is that I’m nervous. My hands are actually shaking as I stare down at my phone. Ugh, do I really have to do this today?

‘Do you want me to do it?’ Aurora teases, and my face immediately flames up in red.

‘You’re a lousy inner wolf,’ I tell her. My mood has turned more sour than nervous.

I still can’t believe Aurora threatened me and said she would call Adrian herself if I didn’t do this. It has left me with no choice other than to call him.

Without further ado, I gather the courage to finally dial his number. The phone rings a few times until he finally answers. His deep, melodious voice comes on the line, and my heart beats like an unsteady drum. “Hello?”

My cheeks are flushed, and I stammer like an idiot. “Uh, hi, it’s me, Phoebe.”
