Amelia's POV

Not long after Chloe woke from her nap, I put on the television and played a Disney movie for her to watch. My slight headache had turned into a full blown migraine and I could barely keep my head up.

The afternoon light filtering through the window seemed to throb with each pulse in my head. My playful baking session with Chloe, the whirlwind of emotions I'd battled with Eddie, and the late-night call with Mom – it all felt like a distant memory now, lost in the haze of a feverish fog. The initial headache that had lingered after the conversation with Eddie had morphed into a full-blown migraine, a vicious ice pick stabbing at my temple with each movement.

The Disney movie played on a loop, a vibrant blur of colors that did little to penetrate the throbbing pain in my head. Every cough felt like a knife twisting in my chest, and even Chloe's bubbly laughter grated on my raw nerves. I forced a smile, but my body ached with a deep, bone-chilling fatigue.
