Chapter 1

*****Elvira's POV*****

"Congratulations Luna, You're pregnant" Jaxon said to me, a smile on his face as he patted my back.

I blinked at the information that had just been fed to me.

I was pregnant?

Really?

"Jaxon, are you telling me the truth?" I asked hopefully, eyes shining as I waited for his reply.

He smiled in return and gave a firm nod. "Yes El, You're pregnant, the pack would soon have an heir" he repeated and a tear slipped from my eyes.

This was like the best news I ever heard for the past three years I had been married.

No, it was the best news I ever heard in my entire life.

Being barren for three whole years wasn't something I would wish for any woman out there, or even any Luna out there.

Because I had been unable to bear a child, I was looked down upon, treated like a slave, a maid and every other lowly mistreatment that would be given to an omega.

It was so bad that even a lowly Omega in the pack had no respect for me.

I was degraded and treated like a fool.

So the news of being pregnant right now felt very surreal and very overwhelming.

I was finally pregnant and going to bear my own child.

The same pregnancy that was the reason I was treated the way I was treated, had finally arrived.

I subconsciously rubbed my still flat stomach as I cried in silence.

Jaxon sighed softly and moved to rub my back reassuringly.

"It doesn't call for crying, Luna El" he said comfortingly.

I smiled through tears and looked up at him.

"Three years" I said, showing him three of my fingers.

"Three whole years, and I finally can smile" I finished.

Jaxon chuckled.

"Yes, Three years and you can finally smile, but you're doing the opposite now" he said and wiped the tear off my face.

I shook my head and breathed in, then out.

"This is the best news I have ever heard in my entire life" I told him, my gaze fixed on the sterile white wall.

"And this marks the beginning of more good news in your life" he added and I nodded, a tear slipping from my eyes again.

"He said stop crying" I suddenly heard my wolf, Dahlia, say in my head.

I laughed a bit, "Dahlia, you heard that right? I'm finally going to have a child and become everyone's favorite"

Dahlia laughed in return and howled.

I chuckled and looked up at Jaxon.

"Jax, when can I leave? I really want to share this good news with Archie'' I asked.

Jaxon stepped back a bit and hummed, tapping his jaw.

"I'll check a few more things, then you can be discharged today" he informed me and wrote down a few things on his clipboard.

I nodded happily, my joy increasing at the thought of telling Archie about the good news and waiting for his reply and reaction.

Would he be happy as I am right now?

"Of course he will" Dahlia confirmed, "this is what he has been waiting for, isn't it?" She asked me and I hummed in reply.

"Yes, he must have hated himself because he had no child," I said.

"And that's why he would be happy to know that you can finally give him that child he wanted for long" Dahlia soothed and I nodded.

"I hope so too".

"It's the truth, Archie would be over the moon" she said again and I had no other choice but to listen.

"Now cheer up and don't cry, darling. Babies don't like when their mothers cry" Dahlia said as if she knew anything about babies.

Jaxon left the room and after a few minutes, he returned and informed me that I could be discharged.

"I'll drive you back to the packhouse, I need to see your mother in-law for a few things" Jaxon said and I nodded.

We both left the hospital in his car and all through the ride back home, we stayed silent.

Jaxon and his mate, Daphne were like the only ones who understood me in the Shadowed moon pack.

The rest never cared, but Jaxon and his mate, who is also my best friend, had treated me so well and it was no joke to say I was living for them.

Jaxon understood I needed some silence to recollect my thoughts and maybe get myself back together.

After a while, we arrived at the packhouse. But the moment I stepped down from the car, I suddenly felt very uneasy.

It was a feeling I always had whenever I felt something bad was about to happen.

"Dahlia what's going on?" I called out to Dahlia, but she didn't say a word.

Strange, Daia never kept mute before. What happened?

Suddenly, the clouds changed as if a storm was approaching.

I frowned at the sky. What suddenly happened?

It seemed as If the sky was mirroring the uneasiness I felt.

Jaxon walked up to me and tapped my shoulder.

"Is everything alright?" He asked and I nodded with a smile.

"Mhm, let's go in" I said reassuringly and he nodded.

We both walked into the huge packhouse.

The maids and guards as usual were on duty.

From the corners of my eyes, I felt some maids cast mocking glances at me.

But I didn't care, very soon they would all see me as their True Luna.

"Alright, this is where I'll leave you. I need to go in this direction, if you need anything or have any more questions for me, just contact me" Jaxon said.

I nodded and he walked in the opposite direction.

Now left alone, I breathed out a sigh and looked in the direction of our room.

"It's now or nothing" I said to myself, also waiting for a reply from Dahlia.

When I got none, I shrugged then clenched the reports in my hand as I made my way to our bedroom.

All the way to the bedroom, I was breathing heavily, both in excitement and in anticipation of what was to come; Jaxon's reaction.

But then when I neared the room, I heard strange noises coming from the inside.

I slowed my pace to listen in on them, that was when it became clearer.

The voice of a man and woman, coming from our bedroom.

I shook my head at the sudden thoughts that came in, then rushed towards the door.

As I pushed open the door, the sight that came into view was the last thing I expected to see.

I felt my whole world crumble as I saw Archie holding another woman in his arms on our bed!
