Chapter 32

We were now set to leave at noon. The snow has dispersed, leaving dews on the flowers. The sun crept to the surface, piercing its soft shaft on the pack house. I took off Lucian’s jacket and gave it back to him.

“Don’t you think you still need it?” he asked. I ignored him. We went to the throne room to announce our leaving.

“It’s a pleasure having you around, Alpha Lucian,” Alpha Bryson stated. He stood in front of us, bidding us farewell with a warm smile. How I wish Lucian was like him; soft, gentle, loving, and caring. But no, he chose the complete opposite. I glanced at Lucian and shook my head.

“Thank you for accommodating us, Alpha Bryson,” Lucian said, returning the friendly smile.

Jennifer who already had tears streaming down her cheeks shuffled to me and enveloped me in a tight hug. “I will miss you, Muriel,” she sobbed. I began stroking her hair.

“It’s okay, Jenny. You will be fine. Alpha Bryson will take care of you from now on
