"He refused?" Valerie asked in disbelief.

I frowned as I hit the fan against my thigh, remembering Lucien's harsh words. It was so irritating the more I thought of how he easily rejected Andrea doing the pack work. It has been the only way I could have dealt with her so easily, but now, it was closed.

"You don't need to shout," I snapped.

"I'm sorry, my lady," she said quickly. "It's just that I'm surprised. You had so much confidence that you could easily get the Alpha to do your bidding."

I glared at nothing as we moved closer to the training centre. Almost immediately, the door pulled open and troops of guards moved through it. What the fuck was going on?
