Hazel closed her eyes and let out a contented sigh. He had been thinking about Gerald all day, wondering if he would come as he had promised. Hazel had noticed her heart fluttering whenever he was near, and she couldn't help but see him in a different light. Now, every time she thought of him, her heart skipped a beat. He had always been a good friend, kind and smart, with a dry sense of humor that she found irresistible.

As she lay on her bed, Hazel found herself daydreaming about what Gerald might bring with him. Would he bring her favorite flowers, or perhaps a box of chocolates? Maybe he would have planned a surprise picnic or a romantic evening out. She smiled, trying not to let herself get too carried away with her thoughts
