RUBY'S POV

Before I could utter a word or stop Clarissa, she had left my side and was walking toward her father with fast, angry strides. Her hands were folded into fists and while I watched, I hoped the situation wouldn't escalate.

Not like what her father said was right but I didn't want her to lose her temper and do or say something she'd regret.

“How could you, dad? Why on earth would you ask Simon to break up with me? That's bullshit!” She screamed in her father's face and both men were too surprised to react when they saw her.

I bet they never thought she would come across them and listen to their conversation.

“Clarissa, this is for your own good. You deserve what's best” her father began and she suddenly let out a shrilling scream. I could literally feel her frustration from the scream as the sound bounced off the walls.

Quietly, I remained in the spot I was while I watched them helplessly and I soon felt a presence beside me. I turned to look and it was Dax.
