CHAPTER 93

DAX'S POV

“You're scaring me, Dax. Is something going on?” Ruby asked me when I didn't say anything yet and I smiled while shaking my head in response. There was absolutely nothing to be frightened about. Instead, she was going to be happy in a few seconds.

“There's nothing to fret about, Ruby. I just have a surprise for you. Can you come outside with me for a while?” I asked her and she gave me a lingering look with suspicion all over her face before she gave in and stood up.

“I'd like to know what's going so I'm coming with you” she said and I grinned before I followed her to stand up too. Then I took her hand and I smirked at Simon who was still watching me questioningly.

They had no idea what was going on either and it felt good to see the curiosity on their faces as they watched me and Ruby. I bet they were wondering where I was taking her and why I was just whisking her away without any explanation.
