CHAPTER 101

RUBY'S POV

Sally was beaming when we arrived at where she was staying before I'd come to pick her up and I mirrored her happy smile once she walked out the door of their apartment and ran I to my arms for a hug.

“I missed you” she whined in my arms while playing with my hair and I kissed her on the forehead before looking at her.

“I missed you too, love. Did you have fun?” I asked her and she nodded immediately which made me relieved to know that she had a nice stay with them while I was gone.

I finally looked at the parents and their son who stood before them and I smiled at him too which made his smile grow wider on seeing me best at him.

Then I looked up at his parents and compared to how uptight they looked back in the hospital the first time they showed up, they were more relaxed this time.

“Thanks for taking care of dally and making sure she had fun. I really needed the help” I thanked them and they shook their heads like it meant nothing.
