Chapter 4 Offers from Arthur

Silence. Two people who had previously agreed not to meet were now facing each other in this packed café. They were both silent, with none of them initiating the dialogue. Milly, in particular, had no intention of saying hi or inquiring about the man in front of her.

Milly had been taken aback by Arthur's appearance and had not expected the man to unexpectedly request her to meet after a month of not seeing each other. Arthur advised me not to contact him again.

Milly still felt horrible about what transpired that night in front of Agatha. Even though everything was her friend's idea, Milly had no face to meet Arthur or her friend.

The stern-faced man gave Milly that stare. He had no idea that the actions of that night would result in the formation of a seed in Milly's womb. In truth, Arthur had never expected the incident to lead to such a long-term problem. But what could be said? Rebbecca desired the kid in Milly's womb after everything that had occurred.

Arthur also believed that this would work in his favor, as Agatha would no longer pursue the man.

"How are you?" Arthur inquired abruptly after a lengthy quiet.

Milly looked up, her gorgeous eyes making Arthur gasp. Milly then grew silent and glanced down. She slowly nodded.

"Alright," Milly said flatly.

Arthur took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He disliked the awkward position. The only way out was for Arthur to announce his entrance right away and make a deal with the girl in front of him.

"That's all right, Milly. I don't want to put this off any longer. I'm sure you're shocked that I've come to see you so quickly after we haven't seen each other in a long. I knew you were expecting," Arthur remarked, causing Milly to flinch.

Milly was taken aback that the man in front of her was suddenly aware of her pregnancy.

She hadn't said anything to anyone, including her mother, who was nearby. But it was odd that Arthur, who hadn't seen her in a month, instantly recognized her.

Arthur understood because of Milly's expression. The news appeared to be real. The man leaned back, recognizing a deep breath.

"Don't bother asking me where I know. Because it's all so simple for me. Discovering this small amount of knowledge does not take long, Milly." Arthur seemed to know what Milly was thinking.

The girl fell silent and let out a deep sigh. Milly assumed Arthur was ready to want an abortion. Milly swiftly explained that she would continue the pregnancy without involving him.

"I apologize for bothering you. I had no idea I was pregnant either, but don't be concerned. I will not ask anything of you and will raise this child myself." Milly replied, causing Arthur's brows to furrow.

The man waited for a time, considering Milly's every word; only then did he realize that the girl had misinterpreted Arthur's entrance. Milly was perplexed as she gazed at Arthur's face as the man giggled quietly.

"Do you think I'm going to tell you to terminate your pregnancy, Milly?" Arthur inquired. Milly chose not to speak.

"Milly, of course not. I'm not that cruel a man; in fact, I came here to propose marriage to you." Arthur went on.

Milly's body stiffened as a result of the man's statement. Her expression seemed surprised as if she had gotten a surprise. Milly's emotions were conflicted until she realized Arthur was Agatha's lover.

Her connection with Agatha would be damaged if they married. That was something Milly did not want to happen.

"There isn't any necessity, Arthur. I don't want to make the same mistake again by betraying Agatha. Besides, if she finds out you're marrying me, she'll be hurt. Furthermore, you don't love me, do you? So, what is the point of this union?" Milly's question rendered Arthur dumbfounded for a minute; the girl had never considered marrying Arthur after the events of that night.

Milly tried to forget him and live as normally as she could. But who would have guessed? Milly found herself in this difficult circumstance as a result of her pregnancy.

"Agatha and I have broken up," Arthur remarked abruptly, forcing Milly to stop talking.

For the umpteenth time, the girl froze, and guilt rushed in. It appeared that she was responsible for everything. Yet apologizing to Arthur now would be worthless. I'm not sure what Milly should do right now because she was completely stumped.

"If you ask me if I want to get married, the answer is no. Because I don't love you. Nevertheless, I require the child in your womb. "I'll take care of all her needs as well as your mother's medical expenditures till she recovers," Arthur informed Milly.

Milly would have been enticed by Arthur's proposition if she had heard it. As the girl thought about how Agatha would feel if she married her friend's ex-boyfriend, she promptly shook her head.

"I'm sorry, Arthur, but I can't. I'll bear and raise this child on my own, which is preferable to having to marry you. So Agatha's sentiments have been hurt? "I'm afraid I can't," Milly answered, leaving Arthur stunned.

Milly, it turned out, was simply a victim of Agatha's trap. Yet Arthur must keep his urge to ask for the kid in Milly's womb alive. It was all for Rebecca's sake.

"We're not going to get married. I'm simply proposing a contract marriage to you. I'll marry you until the kid is born, and I'll pay your mother's medical bills until she recovers. So it's pretty good, isn't it?"Arthur was still adamant about negotiating with Milly.

The girl chuckled sharply, then gave Arthur a frustrated expression. "I'm sorry, but I can't. Whatever you provide, I will not accept it "Milly then chose to leave Arthur's presence, oblivious to the fact that the man's countenance was as shocked and saddened.

Arthur, who remained in Kafa after Milly's death, considered ways to keep Milly married to him. Then an idea struck him, and without more delay, the man headed to the hospital. Milly's mother was relocated to the VIP ward. This was done for Milly to accept Arthur's proposal.

The man had several methods for subduing Milly and immobilizing her. Milly, who had just arrived after dropping by the drugstore, was astonished to find her mother, not in her room. The young lady was perplexed. She inquired of the nurse present where her mother had gone. She had been informed that her mother had been transferred to the VIP ward.

Milly's body screamed. She had already concluded that all of this had to be Arthur's doing because only he could do whatever he wanted.

Milly rushed straight to her mother without waiting for a song. She was astonished to see Arthur conversing with her mother.

"Milly, are you here? Come on in!" exclaimed her mother, motioning for the girl to enter.

Milly remained mute with an annoyed expression on her face, but she couldn't help but comply with her mother's request to enter. She took a seat alongside her mother, next to Arthur, who was now sitting opposite Milly.

"Are you pregnant?" her mother surprised Milly. The girl's face blanched to death. She then looked at Arthur, who appeared calm, as if all of this was his fault.

Even though Milly had gone to great lengths to conceal her pregnancy so that her mother would not judge her and worsen her mother's condition.

Milly nodded weakly, unable to ignore it any longer. Even if Milly tried to cover it up, Arthur appeared determined to prove everything. Arthur claimed to be the biological father of the child Milly was carrying. Her mother was initially outraged, but Arthur told her that he would marry Milly and accept responsibility for his actions.

"Why don't you just marry Arthur if it's true?" her mother questioned, her eyes sorrowful and regretful. She had no idea her daughter was pregnant without her knowledge. She had no idea what had happened between Arthur and Milly, only that her daughter had a particular relationship with him.

"Don't worry, Mom. I simply want to raise this child on my own. "I don't want to bother anyone else," Milly said finally. But the girl kept her head down, not daring to glance at Arthur, who was staring at her right now.

The mother sighed deeply. She then took her daughter's hand in her own. "Don't be like that, Milly. Arthur is also entitled to the youngster in your care. womb. You should marry; it's in your best interests. If I'm not available, you have other family members to turn to, and if all else fails, you can rely on Arthur. Milly, Mummy does not want you to live alone. Therefore, Arthur, marry."
