Chapter 5 Marriage Agreement

"Arthur, what did you do? You visited my mother in the hospital and told her everything? Didn't you consider how my mother would react?" Milly inquired as to the conclusion of her chat with her mother.

Arthur had excused himself at that point, but the man swiftly opted to pursue Arthur, demanding an explanation.

Milly was furious by this point. Emotions were rising inside her chest. Arthur took a breather, seemingly cool in the face of an enraged Milly. Arthur encouraged Milly to sit down and converse for a while. It doesn't sound nice, because it's still in a hospital environment. Yet Arthur would reveal his plans for their contract marriage.

"Why are you sitting there, Arthur? What are you thinking? What is your goal?" inquired Milly, desiring a proper answer. Because she didn't grasp the man's point of view.

Arthur could have let her live blissfully with the baby in her womb if he had wanted to. But he went to such lengths to obtain her approval.

"This contract marriage will do you no damage, Milly. It will benefit both you and your mum. You won't have to strain to pay for your mother's therapy. Your life is also protected. You can use my fortune to support yourself and your mother, but more importantly, my mother wants a grandchild, and it's in your womb. You should not be concerned; this marriage contract will not damage anyone. You are not required to fulfill the duties of a wife, and neither am I. Marriage binds us solely on paper. Marriage binds us solely on paper. We are just legally connected by marriage, without having to carry out our respective obligations and rights," Arthur remarked, pausing for a moment. Observing Milly's reaction.

The girl was deafeningly quiet, clearly contemplating all Arthur had just spoken.

"Our marriage contract is limited to a year. You can do whatever you want and ask for whatever you want. You should not be hesitant to use my family's fortune, and your mother will recover quickly if she receives adequate treatment. Following that, we will divorce and never have to see each other again. How does that sound?" Arthur was still proposing to Milly and her mother a deal and the pleasure they would experience.

Her was reluctant, as though she was still pondering Agatha's feelings. After all, she was still skeptical that they would split up. Even if they did, Milly would feel horrible for allegedly kidnapping Agatha's boyfriend.

"But what about Agatha?" Milly queried, still skeptical of Arthur's suggestion.

When he ran his fingers through his hair, the man moaned bitterly. Milly was overly concerned with other people's sentiments and ignored her own. If it had been another woman, she would have accepted Arthur's offer right away, and Arthur, recalling Agatha, also remembered that terrible night. He despised his ex-girlfriend for plotting something unpleasant and involving Milly in it.

"Agatha and I are no longer together. Didn't I tell you that already?" Arthur explained himself.

Milly had heard that statement, yet her heart still felt guilty. She assumed Agatha and Arthur had split up because of her. The girl glanced down deeply, her expression was unsure and forlorn. This also irritated Arthur.

The man took a big breath and couldn't help but describe his and Agatha's current connection.

"I already suspected Agatha was behind the events at the hotel. I was furious with her, so I severed it. Agatha has nothing to do with this contract marriage. It's entirely my wish, as well as my mother's. Mom truly wants a  grandchild, so don't be concerned, and don't feel bad for Agatha, because none of this has anything to do with her," Arthur elaborated.

"How's it going? Do you wish to marry me? "It's only a contract for a year," Arthur explained, giving Milly another option.

The young lady chewed her lower lip, unsure of her own decision. Yet recalling her mother, who was still unwell and in the hospital, caused Milly to reconsider her decision. She gave Arthur a serious look before responding definitively.

"Alright, I want to marry you."

Agatha was observed strolling hurriedly in Arthur's courtyard. Her expression was solemn, and her emotions were running high. She was furious at what her ex-lover and friend had done. Agatha even considered exacting revenge on Milly for the news she had received.

She was aware of Arthur's marriage to Milly, which enraged Agatha. She was well aware that the incident occurred on her watch. Yet she had a legitimate reason. Agatha was still attempting to reclaim Arthur since she couldn't accept her ex-decision boyfriend's not to stop the relationship. It's all because Arthur is the son of a wealthy man, and his riches are plentiful and will last for seven generations. If Milly and Arthur married, Agatha would not accept it.

As she arrived at Arthur's residence, she approached her former sweetheart, who was with Milly. She also managed to get past the house's security guards. Agatha was eager to meet Arthur.

"Is it true that you're planning to marry this poor woman, as I heard?" Agatha inquired, pointing to Milly. Milly's companion gasped and her face was sorrowful; there was a lot of remorse in her heart. Agatha, it turned out, was still unable to accept the end of her and Arthur's relationship.

"What exactly are you doing here? Who allowed you in?" Arthur inquired, irritably. Agatha's cheeks were flushed, but she seemed to ignore her ex-questions. lover's

"That's irrelevant, Arthur. Why did you marry this girl, I wonder? She isn't right for you. Why don't you accept my return? I've also apologized for any of my errors." Agatha tried to entice Arthur to return to her.

Agatha would never tolerate Arthur marrying Milly because Arthur was solely interested in her. Agatha has had a lengthy relationship with Arthur. So she'd try to wake Arthur up and bring him back.

Milly lowered her gaze, feeling sorry for all her buddy had said.

Agatha glanced at Milly, who was looking down. She glared at her buddy, not expecting Milly to stab her in the back.

"What kind of a buddy are you? So unfortunate that you wish to take Arthur away from me! I did you a favor, and this is what you get in exchange? "asked Agatha, looking up at her friend, in a shout.

Milly made a shaky motion with her head. She denied all of Agatha's claims against her.

"That's not the case, Agatha. You should first hear my reasoning. I—"

"Let my daughter-in-law alone!" screamed someone from behind, who showed out to be Rebecca.

The middle-aged woman rose to her feet and protected Milly, who had been attacked by Agatha.

"She's Arthur's future wife, so I hope you don't bother her," Rebecca stated emphatically.

Agatha was stunned and remained silent. She had no idea Rebecca knew any of this, and it appeared like the middle-aged woman had planned it all.

"But, Madam. She is not deserving of Arthur."

"I am the one who decides whether or not she is suitable. You have no right to pass judgment on Milly at random. And Milly is superior to you. I don't want a selfish, materialistic son-in-law like you. So you'd better leave before I call security!" Rebbeca exclaimed, making Agatha feel humiliated.

Agatha was dumbfounded in the face of Milly and Arthur's humiliation.

Agatha left, irritated. But she'd promised herself she'd get Arthur again and make Milly regret abandoning her.

Rebecca instantly turned around and faced Milly after Agatha had departed. She stroked Milly's shoulders, assuring her not to be afraid of Agatha.

"You have nothing to be afraid of, my dear. She will not annoy you. You must look after the child in your belly, and I will handle Agatha's situation." Rebecca stated emphatically.

What happens next? Could Milly and Arthur's marriage be a success?
