Chapter 10

Sophia emerged from the bathroom, wrapped in her soft, plush robe. She made her way over to the full-length mirror, examining her reflection carefully.

It had been two weeks since the night William had hurt her, and although the bruises around her neck were beginning to fade, they were still visible reminders of the horror she had endured.

As she stood there, lost in thought, her eyes flickered over to her wardrobe, scanning the hangers for something suitable to wear. It was then that she heard the creak of the door opening, and her heart began to race.

Suddenly, the door creaked open. She turned to see William standing in the doorway, his expression unreadable. She felt a shiver run down her spine.
