Chapter 9

"Why is life so unfair to me?" she cried out, her voice shaking with emotion. "Why did I have to be the one to suffer? What did I do to deserve this?"

Sophia cried out, her voice shaking with emotion.

"Why did I have to marry him? Why couldn't I have just lived a normal life, like everyone else?"

But there was no answer, no comfort to be found in the silence of the room. Sophia felt more alone than ever, more helpless and trapped.

Sophia closed her eyes, trying to block out the pain and the fear that consumed her. She wished that she could go back in time, that she could make different choices and avoid this fate.

All she could do was cry, to mourn the loss of the life she had wanted and the person she had been before William came into her life.

Not quite long after she closed her eyes, her heart raced as she saw the door to her room slowly creak open.

Sophia opened her eyes and saw a man approaching her. She immediately felt a surge of fear and panic, and tried to gently stand up
