11. Humiliated

It took a while for her to calm down after Noah's hurtful words to her.

Kiara understood that he was simply stating the facts. Noah was right. Even though she no longer lived in that house, she couldn't get out of Leon's shadow. If Noah had been telling her she was weak and pathetic, she should have accepted it.

But still those words were painful. Kiara held back from dropping those embarrassing tears but she failed. She leaned against the wall in the back kitchen, deserted from the other servants, and sobbed softly there. She felt embarrassed with herself.

By nightfall, she had finished her work and had showered and changed into clean clothes. That's when there was a knock on her door and Ghea poked from outside,

"Let's go to the kitchen. Tonight is a banquet dinner for some pack members. We must serve the food."

Aunt Pansy had told her this morning, but she had forgotten about it, "Alright, let's go."

It was rare that there was usually a dinner banquet at the manor. Alpha D
