Daniel's gone

It was 6:30. The city of Los Angeles was busy and eventful as always.

Alvin was in his father's Cadillac car. They were both in the back seat, driving to a place which Alvin guessed was the banana penthouse.

The drive was silent and uneventful, and Alvin looked at the chauffeur's head as he drove—since he wanted to avoid his father's gaze at all costs.

None of them has said a word since they left the interrogation room. And Alvin wanted to ask his father many questions but he was too scared to do so—like his asking would bring the harshness of reality to fall over him once again.

The silence was slowly killing Alvin, twisting around his heart and soul like a boa constricting its prey.

They had been driving for hours now, and still they hadn't arrived at their destination.

Alvin was tempted to ask his father where they were heading to, but he didn't dare. He wanted to enjoy the peace and the silence a little longer before he faced his punishment.
