Hot chase

Wednesday looked bright and promising—but not for Nora Waxson.

She was walking beside the road with her phone in her hands and airpods in her ears. Her phone was playing slow pop music—the only thing that took her out of the world into a place she could control.

She had a lot of things on her mind today, and didn't know how to shut down her thoughts and concentrate on the life ahead of her.

Life?

Nora chuckled as she thought of it. There was no life ahead of her. Raven was going to come for her sooner or later, and snatch whatever remains of her.

A big question mark still hung in the air, though. Raven had claimed that he knew where she was—which meant that someone who she had given her email had sold her out. And the only person she remembered to have given her email to was Manager Thompson.

If she was ever going to avoid being used as meat for Raven, she had to track and find the person who sold her out—which was Manager Thompson, by the way.
