Chapter Fifty Seven

ARIA POV

Marcus came in and took a picture of me before rushing off again.

I tried to go after him, but Timothy locked the door after him.

I had to stay there for about three hours alone with my thoughts.

I tried speaking with Timothy, but he wouldn't respond. I remember apologizing to him countless times that day. I knew he was still there and was listening to me; he didn't respond, though.

I decided it was his right to be angry and annoyed. He was grieving, after all. I knew how he left, so I should be more understanding.

I sat on the floor, rested my back on the door, and stood still like that until I smelled a familiar scent coming my way.

It's one of the scents I detest, and it wasn't Marcus.

I quickly stood up and looked around for where I could hide.

I wanted to kill Alpha Matthias, but not defenseless like this; I knew he was much stronger than me and would kill me in a heartbeat.

I cannot fight a losing fight; I have a father to avenge.
