Fog - Part l

“The Alpha has asked for your presence at his residence.” He said this with a straight face, and Vesna moved in front of me, shielding me from the guard.

“Why?” She inquired, and his gaze was drawn to her.

“The Alpha is under no obligation to provide you with an explanation.” He murmured coldly, and his gaze returned to me. “Come with me, or I shall be compelled to take you forcefully.”

Vesna was going to protest again but I stopped her. There is no good in protesting a decision that has already been made and an order that was already sent out. I moved Vesna out of my way and spoke,

“Can you allow me some time to change my clothing and I would be present there.” I dashed to my bedroom when he nodded. I put on a loose midi dress because I can't afford to show off my pregnancy. I exited the room after cleaning up and making myself look presentable, and the guard was still standing where I had left him. I stepped out of the house, and he trailed silently after me.
