Alpha Kayden's POV

I walked through the dim hallways of the palace, the crazy things that had already happened so early, pressing down on my shoulders like a heavy burden. My steps were heavy, my movements sluggish as I made my way towards my chambers.

My eyes were heavy, I had barely gotten any kind of sleep.

The events of the past few hours replayed in my mind like a broken record, each moment more infuriating than the last. How could she say that… that there is something between us? The mere thought of it made my blood boil with anger and frustration.

"She's just like any other person," I muttered under my breath, my voice laced with annoyance. "She doesn't know anything."

But deep down, a small voice nagged at the back of my mind, whispering doubts and insecurities that I couldn't ignore. What if she was right? What if there was something more between us, something I couldn't explain or control?
