Amelia's POV
Immediately after the wedding, we left my old pack. I could see the hurt in Bryan's face as I saw him privately after the ceremony. I didn't want this either but I had to do it anyway.
***Flashback***
“You seriously can't do this, Amelia. You don't have to do whatever your father asks you to do.” He said, taking my hands in his as I looked back towards the hall which was on the other side of the passageway. “I know you don't love that man, Amelia.”
“I don't have a choice, Bryan. I don't have any choice. I have to get married to him.” I replied to him. What was I even saying? I was already married to him and he already placed his ring on my finger.
I looked down at the diamond ring and his gaze followed mine. The ring was made from real gold and had a real diamond-shaped heart on it. “We can't do this anymore Bryan. I think it's time you stopped trying to win my heart.” I said and I could see the pain in his eyes as I said that.
“It's for our good. It's for our wolfs' good. You shouldn't waste your time on me when you should be out there searching for your fated mate.” I said and he shook his head in disagreement.
“It is you I want, Amelia. I don't want any other woman. It's not too late. We can just run away now. Your father will deal with whatever Kayden demands for…”
“You don't understand how politics works do you?” I asked, pulling my hands from his grip. “It is instant death if anyone goes against Kayden. I am the reason my mother died, I can't be the reason everything she helped my stepfather dies too.”
“You are not the reason your mother died, Amelia. Stop blaming yourself for it. You told me your mother told you already that no matter what, she won't let you die. She did what a mother will always do for her child.” Bryan said, trying to change my mind but I already made it up.
No matter what Kayden would show me, I would go with him anyway. I did have a choice but I won't take that choice.
“Please Kayden. Let's end this here once and for all. Let's end our journey here.” I said, turning my back against him. “Goodbye, Bryan.”
I could tell he was heartbroken but I couldn't do what he was saying. I wasn't seeing the way he was at all. The entire pack might get wiped out if Kayden unleashed his wrath on my father for breaking their agreement.
He looked like the kind of person who wouldn't listen to any excuse there was to make no matter how reasonable the excuse sounded to him.
Immediately I got back into the hall, he instantly demanded I leave with him immediately and he had a lot of things to deal with in his pack.
***Flashback ends***
The drive back to his pack was very silent and he didn't even spare me a glance and just drove back to his pack. I wanted to ask questions but I didn't want to because of the type of expression he had on. It wasn't a friendly one at all.
Leaning back in my seat, I looked out at the tall trees and houses we drove past as we were still driving out of my father's pack. Soon everything remained trees as we left the pack.
“We're out.” I heard my wolf's voice in my head, her voice shaky. I felt nervous too because I don't know what to expect in his pack. Right now, he wasn't acknowledging my presence and maybe I should expect more of it in the future. “I have to admit, I'll miss home.”
“It never felt like home since my mother died so I don't think I'll miss the feeling,” I said with a low sigh and she did the same before settling back in the back of my mind. I needed some alone time or maybe a time to nap since I wasn't being disturbed by him.
Although I tried sleeping, I was unable to. I occasionally glanced at him but he was focused on the road and soon, the rain started to pour heavily. He didn't pull up the windows and just allowed the rain to pour in and I wondered if something was wrong with him.
“You should just voice out what you want.” He said and I looked at him with an unbelievable expression as he closed the window and after almost half an hour, he pulled up to a huge gate. It was just like that of my father's pack when we departed from the pack.
Men were standing there ready to pull open the gates and they bowed immediately they saw it was Alpha Kayden. He didn't acknowledge their presence and just drove in towards the pack house. Most of the area after the gates was mostly covered with tall trees but I could see some camps before we finally drove into the area where houses came into sight.
It wasn't raining since we stepped into the pack but it seemed like it would start raining any moment.
I was quite impressed by the beauty in the pack. Everyone in the pack seemed happy as I saw them walk and converse with each other briefly. Each house was beautifully set up with different aesthetics. Although I had heard it was the best pack to live in, I didn't expect it to be this beautiful with its alpha's cruel reputation.
About twenty minutes later he pulled up in a large building which could only be the pack house.
The driveway was a big semicircle of stone bricks with a water fountain stationed in the middle of it. Different cars were parked in the parking lot which was on the left side of the pack house. The car stopped and Kayden got out immediately like he couldn't bear being in the same car as me but I didn't mind.
The huge house in front of me was much bigger than where I was coming from and I loved it. I got out of the car and one of the guards immediately shielded me with an umbrella.
I hurriedly followed Kayden into the house and I was stunned by the interior of the house. Everywhere was brightly lit despite the dull atmosphere outside.
It was warm and beautiful. The first room was a beautiful drawing room with different equipment for fun there. There was also a small reading corner but the whole room extended deep and I couldn't see everything there.
“Be careful so you won't get lost whenever you want to roam around. The pack house is quite big so getting lost is quite possible.” He finally spoke to me, then he turned to look at me.
I wasn't used to him looking at me because in the few hours I've known him, he only looked at me at the altar. “We have seven floors here and all you need to know is don't go over to the other floors except this ground floor, our floor which is the seventh, and the rooftop.”
His words came out rushed and I barely heard them but I did anyway. “And our room is the last room on the floor.”
“Our room?”
“Do you have a problem with that? We're sharing a room.”
Kayden's POVThe earth trembled as my paw hit the ground harshly. It was pouring but I didn't mind as I ran across the forest in my wolf form. I needed to release the tension already built up from going to another pack for a long time. Not to talk of Amelia who I was feeling a weird feeling towards. It didn't feel bad but it was a weird connection that made me interested in her. Although she was only here to give me my heir, I still couldn't deny that connection. “Alpha.” I heard my beta, Julius, voice in my head through the mind link. “The reports are here.” I ran back to the pack house and immediately I got there, the maids pulled out my towel, handing it over to me as I walked back into my office where my beta and gamma were waiting for me already. “How did the patrol on the borders go?” I asked as I picked a fresh shirt to wear before going to my seat. It was just dawn and it had been raining since the previous evening when we arrived I had to find a reason to leave the room
Kayden’s pov.The look in Ramona's eyes showed hurt, and pain, but it seemed like the spell she thought she had on me was over.Grinding my teeth against each other, I swallowed, fisting my arms at the words that just left my lips.“You never owned me Ramona, and stop with the threats before I change my mind. I might let you be dragged out here if you don't control that little temper of yours, do you understand me?” I asked with raised brows, making her frown. Her face turned pale, and her lips trembled like never before. I noticed that Ramona wasn't still convinced.“What has that witch done to you?” She asked, allowing tears well up in her eyes, which caused me to chuckle darkly.First off, she was being a distraction, and now, she was trying to get into where she would never be allowed into. The thought of it was really funny, and I found it really weakening that she was using her tears against me.“I made you groan, you fucked me mercilessly. I did all you asked. What happened to
Amelia's povI woke up the next morning, feeling tired than usual. The journey tired me out probably because I never left home.Of course I was treated like a slave in my step father's house, and unlike my sister Anna who had the freedom to lurk around, I didn't think I had much freedom.I yawned, running my hands against the bed with a worried expression on my face. “He didn't touch me last night.” The thought was comforting, and at the same time worrisome. I didn't know if this was a set up, or if he didn't feel the same way. I was feeling really weird.A sigh escaped my lips as I thought about the whole thing. I thought about home, and about Bryan when I didn't even get the chance to see again, but I could tell he was heart broken. I felt bad because we really planned a good life for ourselves, but my stepfather was determined to separate me from him just the way I separated my mother from him.As soon as I said that, I heard Bryan's voice in my head.“Don't ever blame yourself
Kayden's pov.As soon as he said that, I frowned. “What problem, Beta Julius?” I asked, watching him with a firm look on my face. “It's Ramona. She's making a fuss outside the pack house,” He explained with a confused look on his face. I was sure he was troubled, but I was shocked by the fact that Ramona was an issue.“Are you sure you are alright, what is it about Ramona that you can't handle? You are the second in command of the pack and I expect a lot from you compared to what you're talking about now,” I explained with a feeling of disappointment.Julius sighed. “Ramona is crazy. You might think I'm making things up, but she's with a knife, threatening to kill herself,” he expressed, making me groan inwardly.I wondered why that girl was so stupid. I asked her to leave. Yet, she made things hard for me.“Fine. I'll handle things on my own,” I expressed, deepening my frown.Pushing myself from my seat, I closed the document I was looking out, and stepped out of my study while my B
Kayden's povI stood there, watching all the moves Ramona made. Her neck was still dripping blood which slowly trailed down her chest, staining the neckline of her dress. She was crazy, and demented, but I guess there was no harm staying in the pack house because I couldn't have her making me break the traditions over my ancestors that would bring havoc.I turned to my beta, “Julius, give her a room. I don't have time for this drama, do you understand me?” He nodded to my words, making a victorious, yet, villainous smirk crept to her lips. Her eyes stared at me with a dark gaze, and I noticed how happy she became. There was no doubt that was all she wanted. However, Ramona would be a fool if she thought I was going to let her get close to me. “Come with me Ramona, we'll take you back to your room,” Julius said, moving while she followed him behind, still staring at me.Ramona didn't need to speak because her eyes said it all. She was out to make herself mine by all means.Growling
Amelia's pov.“Rules?” I asked with a pale face, wondering what he had in mind. There was no doubt the rules were Important because he seemed serious about it.“Yes, rules.” He paused, taking in a deep breath before continuing with his words. “I know you don't know me, but then maybe I can explain better. I am Alpha Kayden, your new husband, and the ruler of this great pack you know of.” His explanation was quite simple, not like anything I thought about the whole thing.Kayden kept quiet for a while. He then stared at me, but sighed.“I know you're scared. Yes, you should be because I don't give a damn what you feel about me. All I know is I'm a feared, and well respected alpha, do you understand?” He asked, and without thinking I nodded, trying to push away the tears from my eyes. This was the life my step-dad put me in, all because he believed I was the cause of my mother's death. I closed my eyes, and tried breathing when I felt him yell my name, causing me to snap my eyes back
Amelia's pov.“There's no need to panic Amy, you got this. You just have to get pregnant, and–” My thoughts were interrupted by my wolf's words. “Why are you in a hurry to get pregnant, what if it's just a way to make you get pregnant quickly, and then you turn into a baby making machine.” She explained, making me turn pale. The thought alone was draining, and I was yet to even think of something to do about the whole situation, except getting pregnant. My heart was drumming in my chest, and I wondered why my wolf said such to me when in reality she knew I was trying to believe him.“Stop!” I yelled at her in order to get her to stop talking. These words weren't what I needed now. In fact, most importantly, I needed her to make sure that I had full trust in the Alpha's words because no matter what happened, I was still going to be the one to bear his heir.“Fine, maybe thinking about the sex would help you feel great. I mean, can't you see the way he looks at you, and the way he hel
Amelia's pov.I was desperate to know what she had to say about whatever he was hiding. My heart was heavy, and I turned towards her, hoping Marie would tell me the answer.“I'm sorry, Luna Amelia, but I can't tell you anything about that,” She explained, wanting to move away when I grabbed her hand.“Don't dare me by doing what you're thinking. I'll make sure not to drink the special tea, and you know what that means?” I threatened, making her widened her eyes in ways I didn't expect.I too was shocked at the way she acted, but I was desperate to know the truth. However, Marie returned her face back to the normal position.“Can we not talk about the Alpha?” Marie asked, making my heart skip a beat.If she didn't want to talk about him even after the threat I posed, then they was definetely a reason to be scared.“Please…” I begged, trying my best to make sure she still tells me what's going on.“I'm sorry, Luna. You can ask me any other thing, but not anything about the Alpha's life
