Irina’s POV
I was so relieved to see him, so grateful that he had come to save me.
After everything I had said to Damien, after everything I had done, he had still come back to help me!
Alpha Ivan’s departure had me totally confused. He didn’t fight, he didn’t challenge Damien, he just left telling Damien the treaty was over.
I think I must have been in some sort of shock. I don’t remember much between leaving Alpha Ivan’s and arriving outside of Damien’s packhouse. But I keep myself huddled up, the dagger close by. I needed a shower, I needed to scrub myself clean. I needed to remove any memory of Alpha Ivan being on me.
I find myself shaking my head at Damien, I had no idea what he
Damien’s POVIt had broken her! After Vivian, I thought her mother’s death would have been the thing to tip her over the edge. Then again, no woman expected this to happen to them. She had gone with him in the hopes of being able to leave my pack safely and Ivan had betrayed her trust. Her skin was bright red when she came out of the bathroom, and I couldn’t help but look at the jagged mark on her neck. When I ask, she lets me hug her. I thought she might have refused. It takes a few moments before she breaks down. As I hold her, I try to ignore the mark Ivan had given her but it was staring me in the face. The unwanted mark of another Alpha, that was why it was so jagged and angry looking. My father had so
Irina’s POV He said it like it is a bad thing. He had raised me as his daughter, I had called him Dad and now he was speaking to Damien like I was some kind of disgusting abnormality, like I wasn’t even relevant. “What is that even supposed to mean father? You have been sending me in circles with your riddles” Damien continues to demand answers as I stand there trying to process his fathers words. “She is the only thing that is keeping this pack from certain death” “You wanted me to bring Irina home, you told me to go and get her” “It’s to late Son, she has been marked by him”. He shakes his head and turns away, resting his hands on the window frame. “Well I brought her home and like I said, the treaty is over father” The old Alpha sighs “Then you will bring death to this pack, you are not strong enough to go up against Black Crescent” As they discussed what was happening, the mark on my neck was beginning to sting. It was sore to touch, and I try to ignore it. “Stop it, plea
Damien’s POVI had never seen anything like it. Faint black lines ran from the jagged mark on her neck. Travelling along her skin and disappearing under her clothes.Irina pulls at the neck of her clothes, revealing the lines that are heading down towards her heart.“What is this?” she asks again.I couldn’t answer her, I had never seen anything like it.“Does it hurt?”She shakes her head at me “Only the mark but not this.” She taps her collarbone where some of the thin lines sat. “It’s not like the pain I felt before!”“What
Irina’s POV I look down at the dagger I had just put down. Damien told me that it was the dagger Vivian had and yet it felt like it belonged to me. “It is ours” Raine murmurs “How do you know?” “The markings, it is an old werewolf language. It contains our names” “How is that even possible?” Raine shrugs as I just stare at the dagger. “Raine reckons the markings mean our name” Damien raises an eyebrow at me “How would that be possible; the Blood pack have never known of your existence” I shrug my shoulders at him, I had no idea, I had n
Damien’s POV “What do you know Austin?” He sneers at me; I want to punch him in the face but I needed answers first. I needed to know what he had discovered about my mate. “You have no idea what they are capable of do you?” “What are you trying to say Austin?” He turns his head towards Irina and grins like a mad man “Death follows them everywhere” “Don’t talk shit about things you do not know Austin” “But I do know. Why do you think they live where they do? Why do you think your father invited Kelly to the war? Why do you think that dagger belongs to her?” I let him go, taking a ste
Forty Irina’s POV When I heard Alpha Ivan clapping, I shuddered as the fear crept over me. I tried to back away but somehow he had a weird hold over me and I couldn’t get away from him. As soon as he shouted ‘Shift’, my body began changing on its own. I didn’t like the way my wolf looked, how it was responding to Ivan's command, how a single word seemed to be able to control me. Raine does not answer me when I ask, she is silent as the tears fall from my eyes. I could do little more than stare at Alpha Ivan’s back. He had me over his shoulder, an arm wrapped around my legs as my bound hands dangled when he walked away from the packhouse. He smacks my butt, laughing “Just what I ordered”
Damien’s POV “Irina’s grandfather?” Austin nods his head at me as my father looks away “He is still the Alpha of Blood pack” “Does he know of Irina’s existence?” “Most likely. There was a rumour that went around when your father and I were children. If a female from their pack shifts, all the males of Blood pack would know about it. He may not know that she is his grandchild, but he will know that Irina exists” “Why are you even telling me this? I thought you hated me after Vivian” “I do but I still belong to this pack” I turn to my father “Why? Why did you tell Ivan where she was?”
Irina’s POVHe was holding me firmly. His horrible coldness touching my skin as he carried me. Why was I always being carried? I had legs; I was more than capable of walking.“What are we going to do with you?” his voice was deepAs I slowly open my eyes I see the underneath of his jaw, which jutted out sharply, stubble covering every inch. Ivan keeps his face up as he walks but he knew I was awake.I had no idea how long I had been out for, but I was very aware that I was still only in Ivan’s jacket.I shudder and he stops walking, looking down at me with his dark eyes he frowns and continues walking.I could try and fight him, although I am not sure how w
