*Emrys’ POV*
Crimson stained both of my hands as if I never even had tan skin to begin with, the sticky and dark liquid still warm despite the wintery air of Coves Peak Mountain, and swallowing the thick need to breathe, I glanced up.
Quietly, snow fell over the landscape made up of jagged rocks that shot off from the mountain side and the powder like whiteness kissed the emerald needles of the massive pine trees but it was the bodies of my own knights that started to haunt my body, my mind, and my soul.
Taking a heavy step forward, all of my senses seemed to have abandoned me; I couldn’t hear, I couldn’t feel- Hell, I was surprised I could see and take in sight.
The books in front of me did little to ease my anxiety.Northern Whispers is what Emrys went out to fight, or so that’s what the ladies of the court were talking about all through dinner, and me being me, I decided to research what the hell a Northern Whisper even is.Northern Whispers received their name due to their location of living and breeding, all which takes place in the northern most isolated places. They are often found hunting during night, their prey including anything with a pulse, but Northern Whispers seem to prefer the strong meat of Lycan hearts thus pushing them into unfamiliar and newfound regions where one might not expect them.Northern Whispers are known as one of the strongest creatu
“And then,” Ethan continued. “I was like, bitch! You cannot stop me from eating this!”“But it was on the ground!” Ostana chuckled, plopping a fat and juicy grape into her mouth, and listened to Ethan tell his story over our dinner; Emrys sat next to me at our dinner table full of friends, my hand resting atop his thigh for comfort.“Yeah,” Ethan rolled his dark eyes, stabbing his fork into a cluster of green beans. “But it was a Kit-Kat, those damn things are like pure h
“Why the hell do you wanna know about that?” Arrow chuckled towards me, his eyes never leaving his poetry book in front of him; he was sprawled out in his a tee-shirt and jeans that were complimented by a pair of boots atop one of the library’s leather couches.Today, the li
Thomas bit his lip as he looked at us, his eyes wide from fear but I couldn’t help the smile that rose onto my lips; in front of us was the car Emrys was going to gift me for my birthday and mating gift before everything went haywire, but now the black Audi glimmered underneath the lights of our garage.“Luna,” Thomas started, his voice breaking. “Are you sure-”“I have certain duties,” I started, my eyes not leaving the dreamy car for a second. “And to perform those duties, I must be able to go out on my own… Plus,” I turned to face my nervous guard. “This is technically my car.”
“Emrys, we are fine,” I promised. “We’re just researching some stuff,”There… No lie.“Researching what?” He gritted out and I could already picture my frowning mate, his hand running through his inky black curls, and gripping the phone so tight everyone was surprised it wasn’t breaking. “Or do I even want to know?”“Can we have a third option?” Ostana piped up, craziness glittering in her golden eyes as she looked towards the car dash screen that showed Emrys number, call time, and much more.“Ostana!” Laker’s voice now sounded. “Oh thank go
Emrys’ POVHow does one describe such pain as the pain I saw twisted into the beautiful features of my mate, her porcelain skin drawn together in confusion, deep ocean eyes darkened with a million of questions that I’m not too sure I could answer, and through our mate bond, I could feel everything go silent.I could feel my Luna’s emotions detach themselves from the bond only to wilt together into some deep part of her, thoughts running rapid, and the way she opened her pouty, perfect lips just to shut them again in disbelief made me want to pass away.“Lessie-” I started, trying to find the words that I wished would come to me so I may comfort her, but I feel short.
“Blood Moon Ball?”He hummed in response and continued to work on his paper, acting as if his words hadn’t just struck some chord within me, and Laker raised an eyebrow as he looked up from his conversation with one of the guards.
Mr.Serafino Aconite watched as Emrys led his meeting with ease, his hands clasped behind his tall standing and black fighting leather covered back while all of his pack mates listened to the Alpha Knight as if his word was the holy gospel; to most, it was -if not more- equally important to the holy gospel to almost every single person in that meeting hall.“He has grown quite… Well. If that’s the correct word, I’m not for sure, but he seems much more adult than last time,” Aconite noted, his eyes following Emrys as we stood atop one of the passing bridges inside the palace, peering down towards the room.I nodded and moved my hands to rest upon my baby bump. “Ever since his f
