Bella’s Pov (2 weeks later) “Bella are you listening?” The doctor that my father hired asked. I looked over at the card that he was holding and frowned. “That’s a car.” I mumbled as I looked at the picture that looked exactly like the black car my father drove us around in. The doctor gave a slight nod as he set the card down and pulled out another one. My chest tightened as a picture of some type of animal came up. Why were there so many animals? “It’s a raccoon.” I stated not really sure if I was right. I mean it looked like it could be a big raccoon. He narrowed his eyes at me as he reached over to the alphabetical picture box he had. He skimmed through it until he pulled out a card and turned it towards me. “This is a raccoon Bella.” He said through a sigh. I looked at the little animal that looked like it had black glasses on its eyes and frowned. He was grey and white and black. I looked over at the card of the animal that looked like a big dark brown raccoon and narrowed
Bella’s Pov (three weeks later)! “We should’ve came here as soon as the doctor told us to.” I sighed as I ran my fingers over all of the colorful acrylic paints that were in one of the aisles of the art supply store. “It’s been a busy last few weeks, sweet heart.” My father stated behind me. I had become accustomed to my father and husband always having work to do. So I was grateful for the days we got to do things together I grabbed a green colored paint and threw it into the cart that my father was pushing, not bothering to ask if it was okay since I was told I could get whatever I wanted. “I know you have a lot of work to do.” I said as I grabbed a burgundy color and threw it into the cart. “We both do my love.” Lucas whispered near my ear. I was prepared for him to pull me back into his chest but when he didn’t I felt a little disappointed. I had became used to him always wanting to touch and kiss on me. Even without my memories he didn’t seem to care. I could tell he
Bella’s POV (one month later)“I don’t think I’m dressed for this.” I said lightly as we walked through the dimly lit restaurant. The simple pink dress that Lucas picked out for me to wear didn’t seem like it was appropriate. It was lose fitting and had big white buttons going up the front of it. It looked more like something I would wear to the mall maybe, not a fancy restaurant. “I think you look ravishing.” Lucas said as he pulled out my chair. I tried to give a smile but I could only assume it looked more like a grimace. These last few weeks I had hardly seen him and when I did the day never went how I thought it would. “If you say so.” I said as I sat down and put my hands on my lap. Even with just a black button down sweater, Lucas still looked like he belonged here. His dark jeans could pass for dress pants if you didn’t look close enough. All while I looked like my mother had dressed me. My chair was pushed in and Lucas walked around the table that seemed to be too long
Bella’s Pov Lucas looked at me with hooded eyes. The annoyance in his gaze had me looking towards the window that was too far away. This was probably the worst spot to be at in this restaurant. Anything that could hold my attention was too far away. I had no where to lay my head at and nothing to look at unless I wanted to be nosy and stare at all the guests as they actually enjoyed their meals. “Next time we will go alone.” Lucas stated in a low tone that held a hint of anger in it. Why was he angry when they lied to me? “I don’t want to.” I stated as I turned back towards him. “You don’t want to?” He asked seeming surprised. “No.” I mumbled. I had held a lot of hope out for our marriage but every day made me a little bit more and more disappointed and now I didn’t think there was any redeeming it. It seemed like the night had turned awkward instantly because of my words. It wasn’t my fault that they lied to me and said this was a date and now I was starting to be in a su
Bella’s POV I grabbed ahold of my napkin and gently dabbed my lips that now had Alfredo all over them. I tried to act indifferent as I wiped my mouth like I was a proper princes. “I think you forgot a little on your cheek.” Lucas stated as he pointed to the right side of my face. My cheeks heated up as I quickly wiped my face a little more thoroughly, not wanting to miss anything. The rough cloth napkin didn’t feel like it belonged in this restaurant or maybe I was the one that didn’t belong. I hadn’t seen anyone really use their napkin besides for their lips. I set my napkin down and looked at Lucas with a forced smile. He hadn’t even bothered to touch his food. He was too busy staring at me intently, telling me that he was probably judging me. “You should eat your food before it gets cold.” I stated as I grabbed my fork and looked back down at my food. I was more careful this time in making sure I didn’t just stuff my face. I pushed the fork into the pasta like my father h
Bella’s Pov “You know I was thinking about asking my dad if we can have another party on the yacht.” Melody the girl with the ginger hair and green eyes stated as everyone besides me relaxed around the table as they drank their wine and talked. Lucas instantly smirked at her words as he took a sip of his wine. I shouldn’t have been interested but I couldn’t help but wonder why he was smirking like that. He had spent the last hour looking at me every few minutes to see if I was really not going to talk. He had joined in on the conversation occasionally but other than that his face was always neutral. “Are you sure your father will allow that after what Lucas did?” Penelope the girl next to me asked. My brows furrowed and the need to know what had happened sky rocketed. I stared at Lucas who was now staring at me intently.“Let’s not rehash the past.” He stated as he sipped his wine, never breaking eye contact with me. “But that was one of the best nights of my life.” Crystal th
Bella’s Pov Lucas hadn’t ran after me like I had thought he would. He had decided to stay at the restaurant longer and I only knew this because my driver had taken forever to come and get me. Lucas had chosen his friends over me. Had he came outside and done something romantic than I would’ve accepted his apology but he hadn’t even bothered to try. That’s how I knew this relationship was not worth it. I was meant to have a loving husband who made my life amazing. Not a husband who couldn’t even come and grovel. “We are here miss.” My driver stated as he pulled up towards the newly renovated steps. My father had decided to minimize the walk to his car and had replaced the long walkway with what looked like a shorter red clay walk way and red clay steps that lead up to our too big house. My father called it a mansion but that was just a fancy word for house with too many rooms. The driver got out of the car and went around to open up my door. I gave a tight smile as the door opened
Bella’s PovThe room felt like it got smaller as I made my way towards the door. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes but I refused to wipe them. I didn’t want Lucas to know that he had made my heart hurt. I didn’t want him to pretend anymore. I had thought my life was amazing and had loved all the attention I was receiving, never realizing that it was all just for show. I had assumed Lucas was just busy and that’s why we hardly spent any time together. I didn’t realize that this was a true loveless marriage. I was tricked and I didn’t want to think about how I had pranced around like a love sick puppy that was too happy to receive love and attention. “If you walk out of this office you will regret it.” My father warned me. My chest tightened as I looked down at the brown door knob. He would chose this exact moment to say that. I was basically out of the office already, in spirit at least. “I just want to go to my room.” I stated softly trying my hardest not to have my vo
