Bella’s Pov Lucas looked at me with hooded eyes. The annoyance in his gaze had me looking towards the window that was too far away. This was probably the worst spot to be at in this restaurant. Anything that could hold my attention was too far away. I had no where to lay my head at and nothing to look at unless I wanted to be nosy and stare at all the guests as they actually enjoyed their meals. “Next time we will go alone.” Lucas stated in a low tone that held a hint of anger in it. Why was he angry when they lied to me? “I don’t want to.” I stated as I turned back towards him. “You don’t want to?” He asked seeming surprised. “No.” I mumbled. I had held a lot of hope out for our marriage but every day made me a little bit more and more disappointed and now I didn’t think there was any redeeming it. It seemed like the night had turned awkward instantly because of my words. It wasn’t my fault that they lied to me and said this was a date and now I was starting to be in a su
Bella’s POV I grabbed ahold of my napkin and gently dabbed my lips that now had Alfredo all over them. I tried to act indifferent as I wiped my mouth like I was a proper princes. “I think you forgot a little on your cheek.” Lucas stated as he pointed to the right side of my face. My cheeks heated up as I quickly wiped my face a little more thoroughly, not wanting to miss anything. The rough cloth napkin didn’t feel like it belonged in this restaurant or maybe I was the one that didn’t belong. I hadn’t seen anyone really use their napkin besides for their lips. I set my napkin down and looked at Lucas with a forced smile. He hadn’t even bothered to touch his food. He was too busy staring at me intently, telling me that he was probably judging me. “You should eat your food before it gets cold.” I stated as I grabbed my fork and looked back down at my food. I was more careful this time in making sure I didn’t just stuff my face. I pushed the fork into the pasta like my father h
Bella’s Pov “You know I was thinking about asking my dad if we can have another party on the yacht.” Melody the girl with the ginger hair and green eyes stated as everyone besides me relaxed around the table as they drank their wine and talked. Lucas instantly smirked at her words as he took a sip of his wine. I shouldn’t have been interested but I couldn’t help but wonder why he was smirking like that. He had spent the last hour looking at me every few minutes to see if I was really not going to talk. He had joined in on the conversation occasionally but other than that his face was always neutral. “Are you sure your father will allow that after what Lucas did?” Penelope the girl next to me asked. My brows furrowed and the need to know what had happened sky rocketed. I stared at Lucas who was now staring at me intently.“Let’s not rehash the past.” He stated as he sipped his wine, never breaking eye contact with me. “But that was one of the best nights of my life.” Crystal th
Bella’s Pov Lucas hadn’t ran after me like I had thought he would. He had decided to stay at the restaurant longer and I only knew this because my driver had taken forever to come and get me. Lucas had chosen his friends over me. Had he came outside and done something romantic than I would’ve accepted his apology but he hadn’t even bothered to try. That’s how I knew this relationship was not worth it. I was meant to have a loving husband who made my life amazing. Not a husband who couldn’t even come and grovel. “We are here miss.” My driver stated as he pulled up towards the newly renovated steps. My father had decided to minimize the walk to his car and had replaced the long walkway with what looked like a shorter red clay walk way and red clay steps that lead up to our too big house. My father called it a mansion but that was just a fancy word for house with too many rooms. The driver got out of the car and went around to open up my door. I gave a tight smile as the door opened
Bella’s PovThe room felt like it got smaller as I made my way towards the door. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes but I refused to wipe them. I didn’t want Lucas to know that he had made my heart hurt. I didn’t want him to pretend anymore. I had thought my life was amazing and had loved all the attention I was receiving, never realizing that it was all just for show. I had assumed Lucas was just busy and that’s why we hardly spent any time together. I didn’t realize that this was a true loveless marriage. I was tricked and I didn’t want to think about how I had pranced around like a love sick puppy that was too happy to receive love and attention. “If you walk out of this office you will regret it.” My father warned me. My chest tightened as I looked down at the brown door knob. He would chose this exact moment to say that. I was basically out of the office already, in spirit at least. “I just want to go to my room.” I stated softly trying my hardest not to have my vo
Lucas’s PovI leaned back into my plush chair in annoyance. I had to be up for breakfast before Bella woke up but my father and Victor had to have called an emergency meeting at 2am in the morning. There was no way this meeting would end before five, my father would make sure of it. So I would have to go to breakfast with no sleep and try to pacify Bella the best I could. “How long until everyone gets here?” I asked as I looked around at the nearly empty board room? Only 3 other people had gotten here. One being Bethany’s father and the other two being random board members. There were at least 15 people missing. “They will be here soon, relax.” My father demanded in frustration. I grit my teeth as I pushed down what I wanted to say. The last thing I wanted was to start an argument with my father, it never ended well. “You will tell Bella that you couldn’t sleep because of nightmares.” Victor stated nonchalantly. My face fell as I looked at him in disbelief. “Nightmares?” I dead
Lucas’s Pov“So why did you call us here at this time of night?” Cameron’s father asked in annoyance. My father nor Victor said anything, they both skimmed through papers like this was an actual board meeting for the company. I lowered my eyes and bit the side of my bottom lip as I turned my focus to Cameron who was relaxing like he would rather be anywhere else. He was leaned back in his chair and looking around with disinterest. Disinterest that was only a cloak to prevent anyone from seeing that he was really observing them. He was more deceiving than a thief in the night. His whole personality was a fake persona and it was only to make people let their guard down. I had let my guard down in the past but I wouldn’t do it again. Every fiber in my body wanted to destroy him and his family business but the rational part of me knew that I couldn’t. If his father wasn’t the CEO of biggest shipping and receiving company in the world I would’ve done it with no problem. Unfortunately
Bella’s Pov A small peaceful smile was plastered on my lips as I gently rubbed the stubble around Lucas’s mouth. I loved the way it prickled my finger and the way he was so deep in sleep that he didn’t stir when I examined his face. I hadn’t even noticed how perfect his skin was until today. It wasn’t to shiny but it was smooth. His lips were full and every so often he would lick them. I had to stop myself from wiping off his lips because it just made him lick them again. His eye lashes were full and seemed to be the best feature on his face and I hadn’t even noticed it until today. If not for him being in a deep sleep I wouldn’t have been able to count them either. I had found out that his left eye had more eyelashes than his right one, so to help him out I plucked a few to make sure they were even. His eyebrows were impossible to count so instead I rubbed them around with my finger until I was satisfied with how they looked. I would have to remember to tell him that I liked hi
