Chapter one

The city of Vienna is so lousy I came out of the boss that dropped me off at the main street a smirk left my lips as I looked at the city clock, ticking I plunged my hand into my pocket and brought out the only thing I had brought with me aside from the pyjama I wore, the necklace.

I plopped myself to stare at the clothes on the display screen, I was in an impossible situation, I hadn't planned for any of this, I wanted to go back, but what about my mental health, thirteen years of servitude, hadn't I tried enough. They had made a mockery of my mom's death and didn't care if I fed or not.

"Five dollars." I read it out loud. That's quite a penny I couldn't afford at the moment I walked around looking at the dungeon I swirled and turned, 'never settling for less huh.' I said to myself, who cares they can stare all they want, I bumped into a sturdy figured man.

"Watch your steps girl!" I gave a sharp look at him and squirmed away, I got to the dungeon, fear grilled in my stomach, I took time to compose myself before opening the door to an old man, in his early late forties or early fifties sitting opposite.

"How can I help you, young woman?" He said in his old voice and the lens in his eyes, revealing he's in for the real deal, business,

"What's your offer for an excruciating old piece of jewellery?" I asked, placing my hand on the glass table before me.

"Depends on the material," he said, dropping his glass from his eyes as he gazed greedily through the magnifier into my hands.

"Girl, where did you get this from? No two eyes must see it." He said quickly, grabbing it from my hand and shoving it into his millions of archives.

"Two hundred, you can get yourself a bed and some clothes." He said poking his nose high, and I growled at him, I did reek two nights without a bath and food.

"No, one thousand," I said with all seriousness, and the greed starved on his face.

"This isn't some godly town, I'm offering you a fair price."

"Two hundred dollars is too small, the necklace is worth more," I said, stretching my hands out to collect what was mine, not minding whatever he was offering and the hunger that grumbled in my belly.

"Fine, one thousand it is." He said bending over to get his cash and handing it over to me. Greed is when you see that flash in their eyes you place your stakes and that is what I did with him, I smiled as I triumphantly walked out of the room with the cash in my hand, eyes were fixed on me and I quickly remembered what he said, the town is not godly after all I shoved the cash into my pocket and walked hastily my leg can, eyes were already devouring me.

"Not looking where you're going huh."

"Oh my God, you scared me," I said, holding my palm to my chest that almost jumped out of my mouth.

He held me by my elbow, "what are you doing all alone in the dark alley, at night?"

I raised my eyes to see his glowing emerald eyes, like the moon had directly illuminated him. I was lost in his gaze, time stopped so did my heart. His full eyebrow and his ebony black hair as well as his nine o'clock shadow gave me a tingling feeling in my throat.

"That's not for you to know." I snapped jerking my hands and dusting them with palms, I walked out and I could sense his eyes lingering on me, a shiver shot through my body to my spine, he's the second person to acquaint me with the street, needing to find a place for the night.

I went to the billboard that displayed a city motel, it was not that big like a three-star hotel, but none of that mattered anymore as I went to the receptionist to check-in for an apartment. A man walked in and I threw my gaze instantly, he had this aura, hypnotic and I could sense he isn't like us, like a creature, I've heard stories about wolves, the alchemist always tells me they're beasts and I couldn't bring myself to see his built up muscles, I walked with my blanket in my hand to the room I had said for. His eyes lingered. No creature should look this desirable.

His eyes lingered on my back as I whisked away. He also got himself a place for the night. I was restless and had come down to listen to the news, what I saw left me agape, the loud music, I felt like I was in a pub, of course, what's the difference, it shocked me how they swayed their body I went to the bartender for a glass of wine,

"What are you doing here," she said sniffing the air. You're not a wolf, are you?" She asked the bartender for a glass of alcohol. I scanned her in her leather black dress.

"Wolf, I don't know." I've done so well to conceal my identity, but this pack is damn sensitive.

"You prove no threat then, human…by the way I'm Claire," she said her smirk deepened before turning sour like milk as she sipped the liquid in the glass, I can say a cocktail of alcohol.

"Why did you say wolves, are they real?" Sparks of curiosity were needed on my face as I pushed her further, I wanted to run away, but their population was amassed, one of the tricks I've used to run away from packs since I couldn't be one like them,

"Of course, everyone here is a wolf, I can't tell what you're, it seems you're not from here."

I remembered when the alchemist told me that wolves have high sensitivity towards everything.

"How did you know, are you a -" I started but was cut off.

Claire walked outside with some guys, and my eyes trailed behind them, I wanted to ask more, to know whether this prince charming with an Italian accent, although she might be acting out, I was so gullible, hanging on every word she uttered.

"You come here to attend the club."

"That's none of your business." I smother him.

"You're tough aye." A smirk twitched on his lips. My stomach allured to him.

"A glass of devil spring vodka please." He said to the waiter.

"Isn't that too much of a drink?" I met his

Piercing emerald eyes haunted me.

"For you, yeah, not me." He shook his head.

"Running from something?" He asked, standing on his elbow and looking through the crowd, like some good muscles rippling inside the black shirt he wore. It was all coming together. Everyone here looked serious and I began to think what was I doing here, are they some kind of rogues, no, mafias? Maybe she wanted to startle me. Running has been my speciality, especially in my species.

"From home," I muttered gulping the wine.

"Vienna isn't a friendly town as it seems, you're way too young to be on your own." His voice pressed against my skin and a scent of desire filled my nose.

"Technically yeah, but legally nope," I said as I studied his double eyelids that fold once his face turns into a chuckle. I gulped my spittle, dreading the need to give in to my instinct.

"A dance please," he said lengthening out his hand, and I gave in to him, I felt attracted to him, he's the most handsome man I've ever seen,

As we swayed to the music I asked, "tell me, what's your name." His hands to my waist, I needed to escape the throb of desire that rushed through me.

"Andrea," he said and I didn't say anything more, our eyes locked into one another and the dim light of the club gave a spark I wasn't so sure about, I felt him, he was way too neutral to ignore or read what's going on upstairs.

"Tell me why you said Vienna isn't safe for a youngster," I said as he swayed me forward and rolled me into his torso.

"The night is full of terror." He whispered to my ear and placed his hands on my hips, I felt an electric mixer in my stomach, my eyes met his plump lips and I couldn't deny what I felt, as if hearing my thoughts, he chips my head up and I was lost in the moment, I wanted to jerk away but my inside burned, his lips landed on mine as if craving him I swallowed his tongue as he tucked it into my mouth, I pushed him backwards gasping for air and he came back kissing me all over his manly hands wrap up and were between my legs walking their way up and I let out a loud moan. I saw fur cover half of his face and smelled desire in the air.

"Should I continue?'' he asked." And I squirmed, like a lightning, I yanked him away and ran up to my room. I saw his emerald eyes glowing and a fang sink into my back and what I felt were pains, it left me wondering, who are these people? Or is it the sleepless night I've endured that makes me hallucinate?

"What did I just do?" The guilt you feel when you make out with someone on the first date.

I smelled his scent all over me, it was very unusual, and the more I thought about it the more I crave and yearn for his touch, Andrea.

The sound of the lock clicking open, and the door creaking reached my eyes, sending a shiver of expectation through me

"What are you, I pondered as I looked into his eyes looking for answers?" He stood there as I overheard him talking about shifting and going for a haunt in the woods, for a little while longer I clenched on the staircase so I could forget everything that had happened

"I'm what you think, a werewolf," and painstakingly I lost my words, I can't believe my legs led me to a pack. "Don't be like this," he cooed, stepping close to me.

"Mate." His eyes stayed on mine. His wolf growled deep in rapture, and he whispered ample enough for only my ear, admittedly I have gone through something traumatic and I could sense whatever he said had to do with the feeling of familiarity I had towards him. It all seems like a dream.
