CHAPTER 2

Your dad is in the police custody, moris has arrested my father, we have to look for a way to get him.out.

Moris arrested him because of the money he lent him

The elevator doors slid open as soon as Davis pressed the button. Without hesitation, I  followed him in.

Seeing this, he narrowed his eyes at me inquisitively.

Then he smoothed his shirt and said indifferently, "I'm not taking your case."

I  fell silent and disappointed.

It seemed that Davis already knew about the matter regarding my  father!

I lowered my  head and asked softly, "Did moris ask you not to take my case?"

Davis looked at me in the mirror-like wall and smiled. "No. I just don't like mixing my private affairs with work."

I immediately understood what he meant. If I wanted to do something else with him, he was more than willing. But if I  came to him for anything related to work, I could just forget about it.

My  ears turned red from embarrassment.

But once again, he didn't force me to do anything.

Although I am beautiful and attractive, it wasn't enough for him to sacrifice his principles. Besides, he wasn't interested in fooling around in the daytime.

Soon, the elevator stopped at the twenty-eighth floor.

Davis secretary was waiting at the elevator door. She was surprised to see me with him, but because of her

years of working for this man, she knew better than to say anything. "Mr. Davis, your client has arrived," she said politely.

Davis tossed the paper bag to his secretary and said, "Send it to the dry cleaners."

The secretary nodded and left.

Davis lowered his head and started tinkering with his phone. Without looking up, he said to me, "Find another lawyer. And you shouldn't compromise your integrity for favors. It's distasteful."

Then he walked out of the elevator just before the doors slid to a close.

I  gritted my teeth.

What a hypocrite!

At home, Elena was getting more and more anxious. I was under great pressure, so I decided to meet up with my college classmate, Helen brya.

Helen had gotten married to a rich man from Cape City right after graduation. Her husband had a wide range of contacts.

Left with nowhere to turn, I  asked  for your help Helen.

We met up in a cafe, and I didn't hesitate  to tell her everything that transpired between moris, Davis and everything.

I  chewed  out vehemently. After she vented her anger, she thought for a while and asked, "Did that really happen between you and Davis?

I  blushed and stirred my coffee stiffly.

I  lowered my  voice and teased, "Sara, you're really something! Even those celebrities can hardly get Davis attention. There's rarely any gossip about him because he's so arrogant and bossy.

I  smiled bitterly and changed the subject. "Anyway, I had no choice but to turn to you Helen.

Davis held great power and prestige in the upper echelons of society. Helen could easily offend him if she dared to help me.

But helen was my loyal friend. Using her connections, she quickly found out Davis schedule.

*

On Saturday, Davis had a golf appointment with someone at the country club at three o'clock in the afternoon.

I went to the country club with Helen and her husband at the appointed time. To her great surprise though, moris was  also there.

Helen was quite stunned at the sudden turn of events.

Helen pinched her husband's arm hard and whined, "Why didn't you tell me  about moris coming here? How can sara ask Davis  for help now?"

Helen,s husband apologized profusely. "I'm sorry, my love! I didn't know, I swear!"

Before I  could back out, Davis had already seen them.

He was dressed in black golf attire, looking rich and handsome. He was so tall that he stood out among the crowd.

Just like at the law firm, Davis pretended not to know me and only greeted Helen husband..

Helen husband was flattered, so he smiled back.

Then Davis glanced at me.

I have smooth, supple skin, and I  had deliberately worn clothes that highlighted my good figure and straight legs.

The tight-fitting red T-shirt made me look energetic, while my light grey shorts showcased myperfect long legs.

And my long, wavy brown hair was tied in a neat bun, which added to my charm.

Davis glanced at my long and slender legs and asked casually, "And you are...?

Davis  pretended not to know me . Helen’s husband, however, was quite sensible and didn't expose his lie.

"Mr. Davis, this is Helen college classmate, Miss Sara Henry She's a piano teacher."

Davis chuckled knowingly. "Nice to meet you, Miss henry

With a faint smile on his face, he stretched out his hand like a real gentleman.

Around them, the other elite men looked over curiously. When they saw that the pretty girl  was here for Davis they were green with envy.

Someone even commented, "Mr. Davis, you're a lucky man."

I was a little inexperienced and had never been in this situation before. Being talked about so openly, I couldn't help but blush and timidly reach out my small hand.

Davis big hand shook mine.

Then he let go of my hand and said with a charming smile, "Miss.,,,,?would you like to play a round of golf with me?" in a husky voice I could sense desire in his voice.

Without waiting for a response, he turned around and started walking towards the court, as though he wasn't going to let have my say.

I  had no choice but to follow him.

Behind me, moris  held the golf club and watched me straight face.

Seems he  was in a good mood today, so he didn't grow impatient even though I said I didn't know how to play golf.

"Don't worry. I'll teach you!"

As soon as Davis said this, everyone knew what he was really after, even the naive me who doesn't know much.

Davis was deliberately trying to get close to her—which meant that he didn't like moris and he wanted to test him!

I didn't shy away from his touch as he held me from behind. I was wearing shorts, which exposed my long legs. As he moved closer to me, I could feel the heat from his body.

I just couldn't help but blush.

"Focus, Miss,Davis whispered into my ear.

I  froze.

David held my small hands, which were holding the golf club. Then he guided my arms for the perfect golf swing.

As soon as the ball was sent flying into the distance, the people around them burst into applause. Everyone was eager to flatter Davis..

"Mr. Davis and Miss work with each other so well!"

"Yes, Mr. David taught her very well."

He must be a good teacher.”

"One more shot, Mr. Davis."

Davis  was already used to people talking to him like this.

But me! It  wasn't.I  blushed furiously.

Davis chuckled in my ear. "Miss Henry shall we hit another ball?"

He was really good at playing golf; at the second swing, he got a hole in one.

The people around  burst into another round of applause.davis waved at them confidently, looking handsome and energetic.

My heart started to race.

I could tell that if Davis wanted to flirt with a woman, most women wouldn't be able to resist his charm. It was just that a man of his status wouldn't easily degrade himself.

He held me from behind and helped me hit several more shots this time more closer.

During the break, I sat beside Davis. He didn't talk much. Most of the time, he talked about business with others, and occasionally talked about legal affairs—but he barely talked to me.

Biting my lips, as in tried to come up with ways to get on his good side.

I handed him a bottled drink and a fresh towel—i attended to him like a considerate servant.Davis naturally accepted them, Though he was used to that.

I thought this was their chance.

Helen pulled me  into the bathroom to have a girl talk. "I didn't expect that Mr. Davis could also be flirtatious! I've seen him at parties several times before, and he's always been so serious."

Helen didn't want me to really fall for Davis because she doubted he'd marry me. Besides, they also had to deal with moris.

I had to reassure her softly, "I just want to make him happy so that I can get his help. I'm not that naive, Helen"

Helen sights in relief.

Just as we were about to leave the restroom, the door was suddenly kicked open. Moris strode in. Before the girls could react, he suddenly pressed me against the wall.

Helen anxiously tried to pull him away from me"moris , what are you doing?! Stop it!"

What has come over you huun!?

But moris was a lot stronger than her. Without much effort, he pushed Helen out of the restroom.

The next second, the door was locked from the inside.

Helen pounded the door hard and scolded, "moris!

Open the door! Don't you dare hurt her!"

Moris just turned a deaf ear. With a deadly smile.

If he wasn't ruthless, how could he have dumped me and dealt with her father so cruelly?

Sara, a petite woman, stood no match against moris no matter how hard I struggled.

In the end, I  could only glare at moris with fiery hatred in my eyes.

I hated him more than anyone now.

When I stopped struggling, moris finally let go of me

and sneered. "You want to hit on Davis? What makes

you think you're good enough for him? Everyone knows that he doesn't get entangled with women

easily. Besides... You were always so stiff whenever I kissed you. Can you really stand it if some guy started making a move on you?"

I gritted my  teeth and cursed the man in front of me inwardly.

I lowered my eyes and said coldly, "This is none of your business."

Moris looked down at me and sneered in disbelief. "You deliberately approached Davis in front of me. Do you think I really care?"

You're so dump for ever thinking Davis will fall for that

This man disgusted me.i looked up at him with

unmasked disdain and spat, "moris  if you didn't frame my father, I wouldn't have cared who you married at all! Don't flatter yourself!"

Moris stared at me wordlessly.

I forced myself to lock eyes with him. I didn't want to show my weakness in front of him never not me again.

After a long time, moris sneered. "Sara, you'll be my mistress one way or another! Just you wait!"

Then he opened the door and left, slamming the door behind him.

The second he was gone, my legs buckled from underneath. I leaned my head against the wall for support, tears slowly trickling down my cheeks.

What a cruel man!

Over the past four years, I  had done so much for moris but he did nothing but betray me!

Only now did I realize that moris was toying my feelings since the very beginning. He never wanted to marry me! I sacrificed a lot for him.

I was stupid enough to even always daydream about our wedding.

Thinking of this, I  cried bitterly.

 Sara"

Helen’s voice immediately pulled me back to my senses.
